Beautiful Persian wedding at the incredible The View, Koh Samui, Thailand.

The celebrations began with Hana Bandan, where guests applied henna and shared Persian sweets specially flown in.

Later was the Aghd ceremony, centred around the Sofreh Aghd, a ceremonial spread of symbolic items including a mirror, candles, honey, nuts and herbs. During the ceremony, bridesmaids held a cloth above the couple while sugar cones were gently ground over it, a tradition symbolising sweetness for the life ahead.

In the evening, things shifted up a gear with Raghs-e Chaghoo. Before the cake by was cut, guests took turns dancing with the knife, teasing the couple and passing it around, while the groom offered up cash to finally win it back.

All set at the stunning The View, tucked away in a quiet corner of Koh Samui and run by , beautifully organised by Petra at .samui. The flowers by were gorgeous, and a delicious spread was laid on by .

All I can say is WOW. Thank you so much, Aidan, the photos are absolutely incredible!!

We live in Australia, but most of our family and many of our friends are in the UK and Ireland. Bringing all of our favourite people from Australia, Ireland and the UK together in Phuket for our wedding made it feel like a reunion as much as a celebration. We had Aidan photograph both our Welcome Dinner and our Wedding Day, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

Aidan was amazing. He took the time to get to know everyone and truly felt like part of the wedding party, which made the whole experience so relaxed and effortless. Our brief was a mix of timeless, classic shots and lots of candid moments with the people we love most. Aidan absolutely nailed the brief!

We have beautiful portraits with our nearest and dearest, along with so many natural, fun, joy filled candids that perfectly capture the energy of the few days. His ability to capture such genuine moments without us even realising he was there is a true talent.
Aidan even took the time to photograph the venue and surrounding areas, a place that holds such a special place in our hearts. Having those extra images is something we’ll treasure forever.

Our family and friends were blown away by the photos - not just the stunning classic wedding shots, but the candid, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moments that tell the real story of the celebration.

I would recommend Aidan a thousand times over. If you’re looking for an incredibly talented, highly skilled, and genuinely easy-going photographer, you will not regret it.

Living so far from our loved ones, this celebration meant everything to us. To have such beautiful photos to hold onto forever is more than we could ever put into words. Thank you Aidan, truly.

Another wonderful wedding this month at one of Thailand’s standout venues, the stunning Villa Kalyana in southern Samui.

A beautiful day, flawlessly organised by Aey and her brilliant team at Dreamcatchers Events. Always a pleasure working again with Mew Makeup, and Koh Samui Events keeping the dancefloor moving well into the night.

Go Samui Catering served up a delicious fayre as always. Extra energy came from Gromov on violin, alongside some fantastic live drawing from Poranee Art Studio.

What a way to kick off 2026! The first wedding of the year took place at the incredible W Koh Samui and mixed Chinese and Western traditions. A beautiful day with good people, good energy and an easy island atmosphere.

'We came for the love and stayed for the party'

The final wedding of 2025 turned out to be one of the wildest of the year. Perhaps it was the timing so close to the festive season, or maybe it is simply what happens when Irish families come together in Thailand!

But this celebration was about far more than just the party. Generations of family and friends gathered at one of Phuket’s most iconic resorts, The Slate in Nai Yang. There was even a full circle moment, with the bride’s mother having married at the same resort 23 years earlier, back when destination weddings in Thailand were still a novelty.

Black Ginger, the original ceremony venue all those years ago, hosted the opening party this time around. On the wedding day the bridal party prepared in the stunning Bensley Suite, followed by a stylish ceremony in Rivet. Cocktails flowed through Rebar before dinner beneath the iconic tree on the lawn, and from there the night only gathered pace.

An unforgettable way to close out the year. Beautifully organised by the team at , with and her crew working their makeup magic. Mike and set the tone on the lawn before carried the party into the early hours. A pleasure working again with and as celebrant, and a big thank you to .photo for the extra angles on the day.

An Island Elopement in Khao Sok National Park

Every now and then a wedding request comes along that makes me do a double take. This was a Buddhist elopement on a private island in the middle of Cheow Lan Lake, deep inside Khao Sok National Park.

Limestone cliffs rising out of still water, jungle in every direction, and a ceremony defined by calm, intention and simplicity. No spectacle, no excess, just a place and a moment that felt completely right for the two of them.

Khao Sok National Park in southern Thailand is an ancient rainforest, older than the Amazon, where time seems to move differently. It is quiet, remote, and deeply atmospheric, a place shaped more by nature than people, and one of those rare locations that feels both grounding and humbling the moment you arrive.  

The day before the ceremony we visited Khao Sok Elephant Conservation and it deserves real recognition. A truly ethical sanctuary where elephants are not ridden, not forced to perform, and not exploited for entertainment. Just rescued elephants living with space, care and dignity. 

Organising a wedding is a feat in itself. Doing it from the other side of the world, in a country they had never been to before, in a region that sees very few weddings, and arriving with nothing but carry on luggage, is genuinely impressive!

Huge thanks to Khun Bee for organising everything so seamlessly and thoughtfully from start to finish.
