Getting a camera has changed my life and opened up my world and my view of it. I'm a lover of beautiful things; it may be a landscape, an animal, a flower, a gem, a human...

I am always craving for the BEAUTIFUL.

I enjoy losing myself to the wild, just me and my camera, listening to the sound of nature, the camera in my lap, hoping for an instant to snap.

r when I'm outside, exploring.

I’m a loner. It's like a loophole in me. Nature has the kind of wildness that I admire. There is no wrong or right as we understand it, but only reasoning and instinct. When I have my camera, seeking a new location, camping out, hiking, or just walking through the forest, then, I am at peace. I'm living in Koh Phangan, Thailand. I love much of the activities that can be done outdoors here. There are tons of spots that are waiting to be discovered.

My primary passion is gemstones, which is also my main activity, followed by photography. I enjoy climbing, camping, and hiking

Besides that, I’m also into new technology, I enjoy building computers and fiddling with them.

When I'm not lost in the wilderness, I spend most of my time learning new things. Right after graduation, I went to Paris to study gemology for two years and decided to test my chance in Asia, an important location for people working in the gemstone industry.

After four months of wandering around and searching for a job, I was working as a gemstone buyer for a company where I also studied macrophotography. I was able to develop my unique style after some time.

I'm today working for myself as a freelancer, and for the moment living on the beautiful Island of Koh Phangan where there is what I cherish above everything else: the Wild.

Sri Lanka Blue Magpie 🐦

Photographed in the lush Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sri Lanka, this striking endemic species is one of the island’s most iconic forest birds. Its vivid blue plumage, contrasting black head and chest, and bright red bill and legs make it unmistakable.

The Sri Lanka Blue Magpie is endemic to Sri Lanka and is strongly associated with the island’s remaining rainforest habitats, particularly the wet-zone forests of the southwest. It is an active, noisy and highly social bird, often moving through the dense canopy in small groups.

Searching for gems in one of the world's most fascinating gemstone-producing regions.

The area is rich in a remarkable variety of gemstones, but the most sought-after treasures are sapphires.

And sapphires aren't just blue. They can be found in almost every color of the rainbow, from vivid pinks and yellows to greens, purples, and the classic blues.

Out in the field, every stone has a story.

Much respect to these incredible people, working tirelessly every day in such demanding conditions.

These photos also show the contrast between a semi-mechanized mining process and the completely manual methods still used by many miners in Ratnapura and other provinces of Sri Lanka.
