Ko Yao Noi, Thailand 💕
About 40 minutes by boat from Bang Rong Pier in Phuket — but it feels like a different world.
No rush, no crowds, no Phuket noise. Just quiet roads, palm trees, longtail boats, water buffalo, Muslim village life, and those unreal limestone islands of Phang Nga Bay on the horizon.
One of my favorite places in Thailand to reset for a couple of nights, rent a scooter, drive without a plan, and remember that island life can still be slow.

The place I’m lucky to call home.
Calling any beach “the most beautiful in the world” is a risky thing to say, but for me, Nai Harn is that place.
Not because it is hidden or untouched, but because it has everything I love about Phuket in one view: the sea, the green hills, the soft sand, the evening light, the familiar faces along the shore, and the beach dogs who are part of the soul of Nai Harn.

A quieter side of Kyoto.

Shugakuin Imperial Villa is one of those places that feels almost hidden — old trees, ponds, soft mountain views, and a calmness that is hard to find in the more crowded parts of the city.

Admission is free, but visits are by guided tour only and must be reserved in advance through the Imperial Household Agency.

One of my favorite peaceful places in Kyoto.

Sunrise at Sukhothai Historical Park.

This was one of my favourite mornings in Thailand. The park was still almost empty, the air was quiet, and the first light was coming through the old brick ruins and Buddha statues.

Many people visit Ayutthaya because it is easier from Bangkok, but Sukhothai feels different to me — slower, calmer, more spacious. It is not a place I would rush through in a few hours.

Stay overnight if you can. Wake up early, rent a bicycle, and enter the historical park before the heat and crowds arrive.

Some places are beautiful because of what you see. Sukhothai is beautiful because of how it makes you slow down.

Matera feels less like a city and more like a stone labyrinth carved into the edge of a canyon.

The Sassi di Matera are not just old houses — they are caves, churches, stairways, courtyards, and entire streets cut into the limestone. From above, everything blends together: rock, rooftops, history, and sunlight.

It’s one of those places in Italy where you don’t need to search for atmosphere. The whole city is the atmosphere.

Around 7am, during a quiet walk on the Aventine Hill, I stepped inside the Basilica of Santa Sabina.
The basilica was almost empty, and the morning light was moving across the old walls, columns and marble floor in the most beautiful way.
One of those Rome moments you don’t plan — you just walk into it.
