Sharing and Learning from Internationalisation Practices

On 24th April 2026, the Department of Economics organized a seminar on best practices in internationalisation and the development of language and cultural skills. The session brought together lecturers and students from Thaksin University with international experience, along with lecturers and students from Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and Dr. Chenny and her students from Universitas Syiah Kuala. In addition, students participated in a short seminar and conversation session with David from Austria, where they learned basic information about Austrian culture and society.

** ** Enhancing Pilgrim Support Services: A Cooperative Education Experience in Saudi Arabia**

Mr. Asadullah Lohyapha, a fourth-year Economics student, completed his cooperative education placement at Intan Express Siam Express Limited Partnership. He was assigned to Saudi Arabia—specifically Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina—from 29 March to 11 April. During this period, he served as a staff assistant to a Thai pilgrim leader, where his responsibilities included providing support and assistance to pilgrims, coordinating and monitoring groups throughout the Umrah pilgrimage, and addressing immediate challenges in real-life situations. His cooperative education project contributed to enhancing the effectiveness of services provided to pilgrims during the pilgrimage.

**International Apprentice 2026**

Mr. Rujchiti Kwankaew, Mr. Nirut Buakhao, and Mr. Ponlawat Utsahakit, fourth-year Economics students, had a valuable international internship experience at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris in Malaysia during January till March 2026. The three students completed their internships at the International, Mobility and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC) and the Faculty of Management and Economics (FPE). This opportunity allowed them to improve their English, learn about a new culture, and develop important soft skills while traveling to various places with international friends.

** WTUN Exchange Programme and Academic Collaboration in the UK**

From 21st February to 4th March 2026, Dr. Thanawit Bunsit, representing Thaksin University, participated in the WTUN (World Technology University Network) Exchange Programme. During the first week, he met with scholars from the University of Bradford to establish new academic collaborations, including student mobility programmes, internships and placements, joint research projects, and visiting scholar opportunities.

In the second week, he held meetings with professors and staff from the Department of Economics, School of Business and the Doctoral College at the University of Bath to develop new joint research projects, collaborative publications, and student mobility initiative.

**B.Econ. Bye’nior Party 2026**

From March 26th to 27th 2026, the Department of Economics organised a special Bye’nior Party for the final-year Economics students at Pa Neung Longgaeng, Satun. This farewell event brought students together, beginning with an exciting white-water rafting experience. The celebration continued with a night party, where students sang and shared their thoughts and feelings with their peers.

On March 25th 2026, a heartfelt gathering took place as fourth-year Economics students came together for their farewell meeting. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as students shared thoughtful reflections on their four-year journey in the program. Ajarn Thanakorn offered a traditional Lanna blessing, followed by blessings from other lecturers and a powerful Dua by Dr. Abdulhakim.

In a meaningful moment, the lecturers delivered their final messages to the graduating cohort, marking the culmination of their academic journey. With great pride and sincerity, congratulations echoed throughout the room for the B.Econ Class of 2026—a true testament to their perseverance and achievements. You have reached this important milestone—well done.
