“Role-Playing on Contemporary Challenges in Thailand”

On August 26, 2026, Economics students enrolled in the "Thai Economy" course participated in a role-playing activity addressing key challenges facing the country. These included the transition to an aging society and its impact on employment, sandwich generation or the financial burden of supporting both aging parents and children, environmental degradation and natural disasters, and the effects of political uncertainty on investment.

This active learning exercise deepened students' understanding of real-world issues in contemporary Thailand, encouraging them to analyze these complex situations and propose innovative solutions from their own perspectives.

ICSEE 2026

On 25th July 2026, Dr. Thanawit Bunsit delivered a virtual keynote address at the International Conference on Sustainability Engineering Education (ICSEE 2026). His presentation, "Teaching Sustainable Economy in the AI Era: Transforming Economics Education for Future Sustainability Leaders," explored how artificial intelligence is transforming economics education and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to address future sustainability challenges.

The keynote also discussed the responsible use of AI in education, highlighting potential risks such as overreliance on AI-generated content, academic integrity issues, misinformation, algorithmic bias, and data privacy concerns. Dr. Bunsit emphasized that AI should be used as a tool to enhance learning while preserving students' critical thinking, creativity, and ethical decision-making.

Looking toward the future, the presentation envisioned AI-powered classrooms where personalized learning, real-time data analysis, immersive technologies, and collaborative problem-solving enable students to tackle complex economic and sustainability issues. In this evolving learning environment, educators will play an even more important role as mentors and facilitators, guiding students to use AI responsibly while developing the human skills that technology cannot replace.
