🇹🇷Bana bakışı gerçekten büyüleyiciydi.
Bir an için karşımda sadece bir baykuş değil, animasyon dünyasından çıkmış bir karakter varmış gibi hissettim.

Editte, sahada hissettiğim o karakteri daha görünür hâle getirmek istedim. Bakışlarında, Kung Fu Panda’daki Usta Oogway’in sakin bilgeliği vardı: dingin, derin ve güçlü…

Benim için edit, fotoğrafı yalnızca güzelleştirmek değil; içindeki hikâyeyi ve karakteri ortaya çıkarmaktır.

Yakında duyuracağım eğitim programlarının temelinde de tam olarak bu yaklaşım olacak.

🇬🇧The way he looked at me was truly mesmerizing.
For a moment, it felt as though I was not looking at just an owl, but at a character that had stepped out of an animated world.

While editing, I wanted to make the character I felt in the field more visible. There was something in his gaze that reminded me of Master Oogway’s quiet wisdom in Kung Fu Panda: calm, deep and powerful…

For me, editing is not simply about making a photograph look better; it is about revealing the story and character within it.

This is exactly the approach that will be at the heart of the photography programs I will be announcing soon.

🇹🇷Bazı türleri fotoğraflamak için yalnızca doğru ışıkta değil, doğru coğrafyada da bulunmanız gerekir.

Güneybatı ve Orta Asya’ya uzanan sınırlı bir coğrafyada yaşayan özel türlerden biri. Türkiye ise yayılış alanının en batı sınırlarından birinde yer alıyor.

Halfeti’nin sarp kayalıklarında, kendi doğal yaşam alanında fotoğrafladığım bu birey de o coğrafyanın en güzel sakinlerinden biriydi.

🇬🇧Some species can only be photographed not just in the right light, but in the right geography.

The Eastern Rock Nuthatch is one of those special birds, living across a limited range stretching through Southwest and Central Asia. Türkiye marks one of the western edges of its distribution.

I photographed this individual on the steep rocky slopes of Halfeti, Şanlıurfa — exactly the kind of habitat this species calls home.

🇹🇷Çoğu zaman kusursuz bir sahneye sahip olmazsın.
Dün akşam kadraja vinçler girdi, tekneler en kritik anlarda önümüzde durdu, kompozisyon bozuldu, plan değişti.

Ama bazen fotoğrafçılık böyledir; şartlar değişirken vazgeçmemek, karmaşanın içinden o tek anı çekip alabilmek.

Dün akşam, tüm o koşuşturmanın arasından ayın Galata’nın ardından doğuşunu kaydetmeyi başardık.
İstanbul’un yaz akşamı; biraz sabır, biraz inat ve bolca heyecanla yine unutulmaz bir sahneye dönüştü.

🇬🇧Most of the time, you don’t have a perfect scene.
Last night, cranes entered the frame, boats stopped right in front of us at the most critical moments, the composition was disrupted, and plans changed.
But sometimes, this is what photography is about; not giving up as conditions change, and being able to capture that one moment out of the chaos.
Last night, amidst all that hustle, we managed to capture the moon rising behind Galata.
An Istanbul summer evening turned into an unforgettable scene once again—with a bit of patience, a bit of persistence, and plenty of excitement.

🇹🇷Kızıl Sırtlı Örümcek Kuşu

Çok sık gördüğümüz türlere bazen gereken değeri vermiyoruz.

Ben de bu türü yıllardır görmeme rağmen, fotografik olarak biraz ihmal ettiğimi fark ettim.

Oysa yağmurlu bir günde, doğru ışıkta ve doğru fonda karşınıza çıktığında, ne kadar zarif ve etkileyici bir kuş olduğunu hemen hatırlatıyor.

Benim için yaban hayatı fotoğrafçılığında türün nadirliği kadar, hatta çoğu zaman ondan daha önemli olan şey; ışık, kompozisyon, atmosfer ve son dokunuşta fotoğrafın taşıdığı duygudur.

Bazen mesele nadir bir tür bulmak değil.
Tanıdık bir türe yeniden bakabilmek.
Ve onu hak ettiği görsel kaliteyle anlatabilmek.

Senin için yaban hayatı fotoğrafçılığında hangisi daha önemli: türün kendisi mi, yoksa ortaya çıkan fotoğrafın kalitesi mi?
Yorumlarda düşüncelerini duymak isterim.

🇬🇧Red-backed Shrike

Sometimes we fail to give enough attention to the species we see often.

I realized that, although I have seen this bird many times over the years, I had slightly overlooked it photographically.

But when it appears on a rainy day, in the right light, against the right background, it immediately reminds you how elegant and striking it really is.

For me, in wildlife photography, the rarity of a species is not always the most important thing.
Often, what matters even more is the light, the composition, the atmosphere, and the emotion the final image carries after post-production.

Sometimes it is not about finding a rare species.
It is about seeing a familiar one with fresh eyes.
And telling its story with the visual quality it deserves.
