Some journeys aren’t measured by the miles you travel, but by the stories waiting beneath your feet.
Standing before the statue of Alexander the Great in the Istanbul Archaeology Museums with my little Playmobil companion felt strangely fitting. These lands witnessed the footsteps of countless civilizations, where Anatolia became the meeting point of empires, cultures, and ideas. History here isn’t locked behind glass—it still echoes through every sculpture, every stone, and every forgotten story.
Last night’s special museum tour reminded me that even the places we think we know can still surprise us. I walked away with fascinating new perspectives on Anatolia, Alexander, and the rich history of this region that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
