One of the things I love most about traveling with Trafalgar is the incredible mix of people we meet along the way. From the USA to Canada, New Zealand to Australia, South Africa to Singapore, the Philippines to India… and so many more. Different cultures, different stories, different perspectives.

Some journeys end… but the connections stay.

Last week we finished another beautiful trip, and I already find myself missing my guests. It’s always fascinating how life works. You can live in the same neighborhood for 20 years and barely know the people next door… yet travel together for just 10 days with strangers, and somehow become friends for life.

That’s the magic of traveling.

Alll coming together, not just to discover Turkey, but to share pieces of their own worlds.

In these 10 days, we didn’t just visit beautiful places.
We learned from each other. We laughed together. We built something real.

And that’s what stays long after the journey ends.

Today is ANZAC Day.

A day of remembrance, a day of respect… and for me, a day of deep emotion.

Every time I stand on the shores of Gallipoli Peninsula, I don’t just see history — I feel it.
The silence, the stories, the courage… and the humanity.

Men who once stood on opposing sides are now remembered as sons of this land.

“Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives…
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therefore rest in peace… There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us.”

Today we remember the bravery of the ANZACs, but also something even greater — understanding, respect, and peace.

Because sometimes, even in the darkest moments of history, humanity finds a way to shine.

Lest we forget.

April carries a quiet weight here at Gallipoli.

In April 1915, more than a century ago, soldiers from distant lands arrived on these shores — many never to return home. Today, as we walk among the gravestones and flowers, the silence speaks louder than any history book.

The Gallipoli campaign began 110 years ago. It reminds us not only of courage and sacrifice, but also of how fragile and precious human life is in times of conflict.

You may notice the flowers placed on some of the gravestones. These are simple gestures left by our guests — a quiet way of remembering, reflecting, and paying their respects. Nothing more, nothing expected.

These battlefields were once filled with uncertainty and loss. Today, they stand as places of remembrance — shared by all, belonging to none.

Perhaps the most important lesson they offer is this: understanding the past can guide us toward a more thoughtful and peaceful future.

May we remember with respect, and move forward with wisdom.

Today we experienced one of the most authentic moments of our journey with Insight Vacations. At the beautiful Nif Bağları vineyards, we enjoyed a true farm-to-table lunch with homemade Turkish dishes, surrounded by nature at its finest.

We tasted local wines, shared stories, and slowed down to appreciate the simple beauty around us.

Nature truly is beautiful, especially when it brings people, flavors, and unforgettable moments together. 🌿🍷

Sometimes the world feels incredibly small in the most beautiful way.
Today in Ephesus, Leo and Sheila had a completely unexpected reunion… they ran into their former Insight Vacations Travel Director, Elizabeth, whom they had traveled with years ago in France.
And now, here they are again, traveling with Insight Vacations — and this time, I am honored to be their TD .
Moments like these remind us that travel is not only about places, but about people and connections that stay with us.
