Look at these gorgeous lions! 🦁

Who among you who’s seeing these images had the honor and privilege of going on an African safari with my parents?! 🤔

Going to Kenya & Tanzania was my parents favorite place to travel. They led over 80+ trips there since starting their safari biz Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris . (Which btw is still running tours, you should check them out!)

They loved it so much that they took two last trips there in the year my beloved mother died, when stage 4 peripheral cell lymphoma was severely affecting her.

I loved how their honored their heart & passion and followed what gave them joy. This is quite an admirable trait don’t you think?

In these photos are a lion cub and two male lions. I suspect they were taken in the Serengeti Masai Mara, but I’m not 100% sure.

I hope you enjoy this share! May their spirits live on! ♥️

🐢 At one point in the history of underwater photography, this was a spectacular photo. It still is, but you can see how underwater photo technology has improved since this turtle photo was taken sometime in the 1990’s I suspect.

Still, the lighting and the details of the turtle are clear.

I remember my father and his underwater camera, it was such a novelty then. Who would have guessed that YEARS later, after his death, I would get into underwater photography. Check out my 🧜‍♀️ & underwater portrait photography page kauai.mermaid.experience 📸

Dad, your inspiration lives on. Thank you for inspiring me as you did. Love you forever ♥️

Hello friends! I am considering putting ALL of my fathers digitized photos online on ONE PLATFORM (beyond FB and IG pages) so everyone can see his photos organized for different locations, like Africa, Antarctica, South America etc and reference them. Would you all like to see that?

Also, would you have recommendations for platforms to do that on? I have created a handful of websites in the past and it would be fairly easy to create, but there might be an easy online photography platform that is already created for this purpose that I don't know about. If you know of something, please let me know. Thanks!

Dad, something powerful happened recently. ❤️‍🔥

I told the story of you being an island boy here on your beloved home island of Kaua’i, Hawaii before the showing of Rescued Hearts Film film here last weekend in front of 300 people! 😳

I shared about our ohana being from this precious place going back to 1876, immigrating from the Azores Islands & Medeira off the coast of Portugal. I spoke about our family lineage & I spoke about your four year death anniversary, which was the following day. 💔

I shared about how it’s vitally important to speak about grief, to release it, let it go & how grief is an indication of deep love. 🌹

And guess what? Sharing in this vulnerable manner helped to heal my heart that’s been so fractured after your death. ❤️‍🩹

Everytime I practiced this talk, I would shed tears, as talking about you and your death anniversary is still extremely tender to my heart. I knew I would crack up a bit on stage, which I did, but that was ok. 💦

WHEN WE ARE VULNERABLE & brave enough to share our heart, this is when we heal.

We heal in community, not in isolation. 🙌🏽

And guess what Dad? Last night I had a comforting dream where we were strolling together through one of the universities you used to attend. You were telling me about one of your favorite science teachers.

To have a dream like this, is an impactful validation of the deep transformational work I have done after your passing. The months leading up to your death were incredibly traumatic for me, and this reality was reflected in my dreams.

I CELEBRATE THIS HEALING‼️

It was actually a full circle moment, as when the documentary was filmed here on Kaua’i, I spoke about my fathers death, as the grief was so fresh AND we had a ‘Grief Ritual with Horses’ activity here that was featured in the film. I love how it all perfectly unfolds in divine timing. 🌹

These were photos shared during the presentation. My father in a pineapple field in Kaua’i, him with a horse and me on horse with my parents when I was two. 🐴

Mahalo beautiful Kaua’i community for witnessing the inner chambers of my heart.

Mahalo to Dana and Krisanna of Rescued Hearts! ♥️🙏🏽♥️

🐯 This, my friends, is a photo of a Bengal tiger taken on an India 🇮🇳 trip my parents led.

I was actually on this trip and remember seeing this beautiful tiger! It was taken in 1991.

It’s beautiful, isn’t it?! 📸

As your 4th death anniversary approaches, I find a deep grief, more profound than I’ve experienced before & ultimately more healing is arising within me.

This is correlating with the sharing of the film Rescued Hearts Film here on Kaua’i on March 21, which my story of grief over the loss of both of my parents, friends & my own journey with stage 4 cancer is shared.

My father died on March 22 and the film is being shown on the evening of March 21.

There are no mistakes that this timing lines up as it does.

What I’m also aware of is also my beloved friend Dana who is the producer of and the recent death of her beloved father & the powerful story of healing between them that is portrayed in the film.

Being a deep sensitive creature, I’m get the significance of these correlations.

I know all of this will being a new chapter of healing for my heart that is still grieving my father, who was the sunshine of my world.
His Portuguese personality was BIG, as you can see in the photo here! 🌞

I have missed him every single day.

Before the film, I will be speaking about my ancestral roots on island, the significance of horse culture here, which my ohana has been a part of and show some photos of my father as a youth on this special island.

This all takes great courage, especially around his death anniversary.

I am going forward with an open and vulnerable heart trusting that I can share the important message of healing the heart, transforming grief into love & the importance of sharing vulnerability in community in a beautiful manner.

May this experience be healing for the community, the world and all of our tender hearts.

Love you forever Dad ❤️‍🔥

Thank you Dana & Krisanna for this magnificent opportunity. Love you both too ♥️

Hello friends! This is not one of my father's illustrious photos, but merely a share that is is ALMOST MY BIRTHDAY and I am doing a birthday fundraiser for my brothers organization Happywhale - Many of you who follow this page know what an incredible creation my brother has made with his whale tail identification app. if you don't know about it, please check it out!

Every year I do a fundraiser for my birthday and this year I am choosing Ted's organization, as it is a very worthy cause for whale science and ocean conservation, which I truly believe in!

Please check out the fundraiser link in the comments and consider donating if inspired. Mahalo!

Orca information: I have been sharing conversations with my friend here about orcas & thought I would share this fascinating conversation:

is so interesting, orcas have brains that are five times larger than ours. I forgot what the brain structure is called, it may be the cerebral cortex, but the part of the brain that processes emotions, it is much larger and way more complex than ours. On one of the whale watching tours I went on the onboard marine biologist said they can process emotions 17x better than us, but I’m not sure if that is true or not.

It is pretty crazy how intelligent orcas are. Recently I even learned that they are so self-aware that they even possess “Theory of Mind”’ which is when they are fully aware that others have different feelings, emotions, and ambitions different than their own.

Did you know that? Mahalo Tyler for the info!!

There is so much more going on beyond what us humans recognize. 😉

A royal, majestic male lion 🦁 Isn’t he handsome?

I recently uploaded a bunch of new photos of my fathers & this is in the latest batch.

I’m not sure where exactly this was taken, but I’m certain it was somewhere in Kenya or Tanzania East Africa.

New photos coming soon! I’ve been getting through the holiday season & just trying to stay afloat. 🚤 Now that Xmas has passed, you’ll see more images coming soon. Thank you all for your nice comments on this page, it’s very appreciated. 🙏🏽

This is one of my favorite photo of my parents in Antarctica, a place they dearly loved. Perhaps some of you were on this trip?

They always looked happy, jubilant and free while on safari. It brings my heart joy to see these photos now. ❤️
