農曆六月十二日/國曆七月二十五日上午11:05
陰陽司公出神龕為⏰2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣竹塹中元城隍祭開展前的重要前導科儀。陰陽司公為城隍爺帳下神祇，專司陰陽文書、人鬼訴狀，臉分黑白，象徵審理公正。每年農曆六月十二日，恭迎其出龕，待農曆七月初一日前往北壇駐駕，展開為期半月的聽訟職責。陰陽司公在北壇期間，傾聽無祀孤魂與陽世眾生的訴苦申冤，為後中元節將所聽取之冤屈上稟城隍爺。此儀式象徵城隍信仰中「先察冤屈、後施恩憫」的陰陽秩序，也預示著整場祭典的序幕即將展開。

Yinyanggong’s Departure from the Shrine陰陽司公出神龕
The Ritual of the Yinyanggong’s Departure from the Shrine is an important preliminary ceremony held before the Hsinchu Chenghuang Festival begins. The Yinyanggong serves under the City God, overseeing official documents of both the yin and yang realms and adjudicating petitions from both spirits and the living. With a face painted half black and half white, the deity symbolizes impartial justice. Each year, on the twelfth day of the sixth lunar month, the deity is ceremonially escorted from the shrine and, before the first day of the seventh lunar month, transferred to the North Altar, where the deity presides for fifteen days to hear grievances. During this time at the North Altar, the Yinyanggong receives the complaints and petitions of both unattended wandering spirits and the living, preparing to report these cases to the City God during the Ghost Festival. This ritual embodies the yin-yang order within City God belief—first investigating grievances, then dispensing mercy—and marks the official opening of the festival.
