Taiwan has seen exceedingly copious amounts of rain over the last few days—in some areas, rainfall has been equivalent to more than half-a-year’s average of precipitation. Under such circumstances, it is not surprising that floods and other disasters are more likely to occur. On the evening of June 3, a fire broke out near Xingtian Temple and these are some pictures of the Fire Department’s efforts to have it under control, which they finally did after about four hours of strenuous work.
