由知名攝影工作者-阮義忠先生成立，阮義忠先生長期不懈地將國外的影像、資訊或器材引進到台灣，更創辦了「攝影家雜誌」、「攝影家出版社」，專門發行攝影書刊，致力於推廣台灣的攝影，在攝影工作各方面向上的努力經營，對國內攝影界有著無法忽視的貢獻。

於2005年更新LOGO，並以傳達接近藝術、體驗生活美學的理念而努力。主要代理歐洲高級相簿、展示本及相關用品，所代理的產品主張自然素淨、簡約時尚、高品質的設計理念。JDW將引進更多產品，提供台灣更多美與巧思的生活感。
