《Form》是一組關於肖像存在性的作品。

我以真人 Cosplay 攝影作為基底，並透過 AI 重建與局部生成，研究人類臉孔在數位影像中的逐漸消失。作品中的人物介於真實與生成之間：部分皮膚、眼神與表情仍保留真實痕跡，而其他區域則已被演算法重新塑形。

我關心的並不是 AI 是否能生成逼真的臉，而是：

當人類開始主動向演算法的平均值靠攏時，真正消失的是什麼？

Form is a project about the instability of portraiture in the age of AI.

Using staged cosplay photography combined with partial AI reconstruction, the series explores the gradual disappearance of the human face within digital image systems. The subjects exist in an unstable state between reality and generation: fragments of skin, gaze, and expression remain human, while other regions have already been reformatted by algorithms.

The project is not simply about whether AI can generate convincing faces. Instead, it asks:

When humans begin to voluntarily converge toward algorithmic averages, what exactly disappears?

作品中的「局部侵蝕」呈現了這種轉換過程中的裂縫：真實皮膚與 AI 重建區域同時存在，使人物陷入介於肉身與數據之間的不穩定狀態。

《Form》並不將 AI 視為未來科技的幻想，而是將其視為一種已經開始運作的視覺權力結構。

Form examines how images become a form of statistical violence in the age of AI.

Combining staged photography, AI generation, and digital reconstruction, the series places different individuals within the same algorithmic framework. Rather than inventing entirely new faces, AI refines and averages existing aesthetic data, gradually pushing human appearance toward increasingly stable and standardized forms.

The “partial erosion” works reveal fractures within this transformation: real skin and AI-generated surfaces coexist, placing the subjects in an unstable state between flesh and data.

Rather than treating AI as speculative future technology, Form approaches it as an already operational structure of visual power.

《Form》是一組結合攝影與 AI 重建技術的長期影像計畫。作品以真人 Cosplay 攝影為基礎，研究演算法如何逐漸將不同個體壓縮為高度相似的視覺模板。

在本系列中，我將攝影視為一種「身體採樣行為」，而 AI 則成為重新定義外貌的統計系統。參與者雖然擁有不同的年齡、性別與身體特徵，但經過模型生成後，這些差異逐漸被平滑化，收斂為符合當代審美的標準臉孔。

作品中的矩陣結構模擬了資料庫與監控系統的視覺邏輯，使角色逐漸從「人格」轉變為「可重複生產的形式」。

Form is an ongoing photographic project combining staged portraiture with AI-based image reconstruction. Starting from cosplay photography, the series examines how algorithmic systems gradually compress different individuals into increasingly similar visual templates.

In this project, photography functions as a form of bodily sampling, while AI operates as a statistical mechanism redefining appearance itself. Despite differences in gender, age, and physical condition, the participants are progressively normalized into faces aligned with contemporary beauty standards.

The matrix structure throughout the series references the visual logic of databases and surveillance systems, where identity shifts from personality into reproducible form.

《Form》從一個簡單的條件出發：當許多人試圖成為同一角色時，角色不再屬於敘事，而轉化為一種可被量化的形式。

本計畫不將此視為再現問題，而是視為一套生產視覺標準的系統。在cosplay、數位修圖與AI生成的交互作用中，身體持續被重塑，朝向一種共享的預期。被生產出來的不是相似，而是收斂。

每件作品由雙矩陣構成：真人與AI影像並列。在真人矩陣中，角色分散於不同年齡、性別與身體條件之中，這些差異並未累積為多樣性，而是不斷被覆蓋與壓制；在AI矩陣中，差異不再可見，而是被解決。

最終生成的影像並非更準確，而是更具約束力。它們不再再現角色，而是在定義角色得以被辨識的條件。每一張影像都是一種模型——將集體慾望壓縮為穩定且可重複的形式。

這種標準從來不是中立的，而是由多層權力結構所生產：人類慾望提供輸入，文化平台進行篩選與放大，計算系統將這些選擇壓縮為統計上的確定性。看似自然的審美，其實是一種被工程化的共識。

在這個系統中，排除不是副作用，而是必要條件。任何無法被穩定為可預測影像的身體，都會被視為錯誤。差異不被呈現，而是被修正、被平滑、或被移除。最終可見的，並不是人類身體的多樣性，而是能夠被標準化的狹窄範圍。

在這樣的條件下，醫美、濾鏡與影像修飾不再只是自我選擇，而是一種順從機制。可見性成為有條件的存在：被看見，意味著必須接近模型。

《Form》並不記錄這個轉變，而是揭露其運作機制。問題不再是我們能多接近這個影像，而是——為了讓這個影像維持穩定，誰必須消失。

當許多人嘗試成為同一角色時，角色便轉化為一種「形」（Form）。

《Form》探討這種形如何在當代影像系統中被生成、穩定並最終被標準化。透過真人扮演者與AI生成影像的網格並置，作品呈現從身體差異走向演算法收斂的過程。

在真人影像中，角色分散於不同身體之上——在年齡、性別與身體條件之間展現差異；而在AI影像中，這些差異被系統性地消解，並收斂為一致且理想化的形象。所謂的「真實感」，並非來自現實，而是來自統計最佳化的結果。

本計畫指出，AI不只是生成影像，而是在建構規範，使身體從差異的場域轉變為共識的表面。

When many individuals attempt to embody the same character, the character becomes a form.

Form investigates how this form is produced, stabilized, and ultimately standardized through contemporary image systems. By juxtaposing grids of human performers with AI-generated counterparts, the work stages a shift from bodily variation to algorithmic convergence.

In the human images, the character is dispersed across different bodies—varying in age, gender, and physical condition. In the AI images, these differences are systematically resolved into a coherent, idealized figure. What appears as realism is not a reflection of reality, but the result of statistical optimization.

The project suggests that AI does not simply generate images, but constructs norms. In doing so, it transforms the body from a site of difference into a surface of agreement.
