🔴 NASA’s Boeing 777-200ER (N577NA), replacing the retired DC-8, is being modified with nadir and window ports, power, data and communications systems, and operator accommodations. Based at Langley, it will begin FY2027 operations, also sporting NASA’s new blue livery.

A solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, casting its shadow onto Earth.

A lunar eclipse happens when Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, casting Earth’s shadow across the Moon.

Same three worlds.
Completely different shadow.

Sadly, the landing gear failed on a New York Airways Sikorsky S-61 while it was taking on passengers on the roof of the Pan Am building. The aircraft rolled onto its side. Its spinning rotor blades killed four passengers waiting to board. May 16, 1977

Afterwards, they disassembled the airframe and took it down to street level in the freight elevator. Debris also killed a passersby on the street below. The accident precipitated the permanent closure of the heliport
