THE PROFILE OF DIGI-DIGI PHOTOGRAPHY
Digi-digi photography a Uganda Community Based group in Gulu Municipality in northern Uganda, With the intention break communication barriers through art, photography to enhance livelihoods sustainability for the detriment young men and women of Uganda. In 2006, war was the rule of the day in northern Uganda. Every evening outside of Gulu, Kitgum, Pader and
other places in the northern Uganda, thousands of children used to trek up to12 kilometers into town to find shelter at night in fear of losing their lives and the impending abduction by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) that would frequently attach their villages. Night commuting brought safety from the Lord’s Resistance Army but the children were exposed to even more hazards that they did not think about. Exploitation, r**e and molestation became the order of the day. Children became mothers as young as 12 years old, a phenomenon that made a number of children to miss formal education. At a night commuting center in Gulu, some children were lucky to attend photography training offered by a Spanish photographer; Borja Luque from Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), a chance that turn out to be a big dream for them, of which Okello Stephen who is the founder of digi digi photography was among the few who have benefited
