Had a great time on a game drive today. Some of my favorite memories are on safaris. I've now been on safaris in South Africa, Tanzania, and 3 different parks in Uganda. All are different and have their strengths.

Here's the story of how I met this Mzee Al.

As I sat at home in the USA, yearning for the days that I would go talk with the older generation in Uganda and hear their stories of what it used to be like, I started typing their descriptions on my computer. As I wrote out a general description, I hit the enter key. Waiting just a measly 2 minutes, I met Al. My first, and probably only, AI-generated Mzee.

As I gazed into the eyes of this mzee "photo" (which I edited in my normal mzee style) a strange feeling overcame me. While the image held a certain eerie resemblance to many of the mzee's that i had met, it failed to capture the essence of genuine human interaction for me. I figured out that the missing element was the true depth and richness that can only be experienced through direct contact with another person. As I scrutinized Al's face, I couldn't help but feel the absence of his untold story, the countless experiences that shaped his life.

I longed for the opportunity to sit beside a mzee, to listen attentively as they shared their wisdom, hardships, and joys. Isn't that what life is truly about? Isn't it the intimate exchange of stories and shared empathy that sets us apart as humans?

We stand at the precipice of a new era in human history. The rise of AI technologies introduces us to uncharted territory, where the boundaries between real and artificial are starting to become more blurred. The future remains uncertain, with endless possibilities awaiting us. However, in this moment, I made a conscious decision. I chose to prioritize authentic human connection above all else. For now, I opt to immerse myself in the captivating narratives of real people. I yearn to hear their stories, to understand their perspectives, and to share in their triumphs and tribulations. It is through these intimate connections that life gains meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. Without genuine human interaction, the world feels hollow and empty—a mere shell of what it could be.

The stories of individuals, the empathy we extend to one another, and the shared experiences that unite us—these are the irreplaceable threads that weave the tapestry of humanity.

It's been a long time since I posted a photo. I was in Old Dubai recently and passed this guy. I had to get his photo. I didn't get much of his story as we didn't speak each other's language. But one thing I could tell is that he loved his wife. It was great to see them strolling down beautiful Old Dubai together, walking hand in hand.

We all have different personalities and strengths, but we can all do our best to bring out the best with what we have. This quote has so much meaning to me in this time of my life. I've taken a little hiatus from social media recently as so much in my life has changed.

I'm learning to give myself grace and using this time to really work on myself. I've been watching so much on personal development and learning about myself. Learning my faults so that I can improve them. But also learning my strengths so that I can leverage them more. I'm learning and growing so much. If you have never taken time to work on yourself, I encourage you to do that. It's so worth the investment in time.

Our mini documentary, HEROES, showing in select theaters. and I put a ton of work into this film. So satisfying to see the title in front of the theater.

And I can't state enough how I love the work that pours into Ugandans. Their love for the people of Uganda is overflowing. I hope that this film helps them in so many ways to continue doing the work they do.

Loved working with creating this amazing immersive experience from the film we captured. Super proud to be a small part of the work they are doing in Uganda! This was the setup they had at the conference.

This mzee had no other objective other then for me to take him to USA. So many people think their lives would be different if they were in America. I hope by the time today's youth in Uganda become mzee's, this will be different. I hope that the youth in Uganda learn to be innovative. That the talented youth will stay in Uganda and want to make changes here. I must say, poverty here is a heart breaking thing. I do hate not seeing much opportunity for many people here. However, it's so great to see the changes that great organizations do here to help out with poverty. I get to experience that a lot with the great organizations that I have the honor to work with. With all the negative news all around, it's great to see that there really is good in this world!
