Well believe it or not itās fall, soon enough the holidays are here. SO Iām going to get personal for a minute, because sometimes in this career, itās easy to get caught up in the sessions, the busy seasons, the routine⦠and forget why we do this in the first place.
Over the last two years, loss has hit my family hard. I lost my grandma, my beloved dog Winnie, and my dear Mom. One of the hardest things Iāve had to accept is that I donāt have recent professional photographs with them and it truly feels very heavy on my heart. Before these losses, I made the same excuses so many of us make. Weāll do photos next year. Things are too busy right now. Weāll find the time at some point.
I understand it now in a way I never could before. There is no guarantee of next year. So I donāt care who you book your photos withā¦I just care that you do it. Stop waiting for the perfect time, the perfect outfits, or when life slows down. Get in the frame. Love on your people. Capture them while you can. Thatās why I love extended family sessions so much. Grandma and Grandpa the people who started it all. Your kids and all their cousins. Tiny toes lined up together. The big kids loving on the little ones. Families bunched up together laughing, everyone running through a field. The beautiful chaos of having everyone you love in one place and in one photo. These are the photographs that become family treasures.
If this Thanksgiving break is the year your whole family is finally together, Iām here for it. I have beautiful locations available, but I can also come to you wherever your family gathers.
Donāt put it off until next year, I used to think I had more time, too. If youāre all together this year, letās make the most of it. š¤
