There have been a lot of hard parts about recovering from my hip surgery...
But honestly, one of the hardest has been having to say no to newborn sessions.
Every time an inquiry comes in that I can't take, it stings a little.
I know that sounds silly to some people, but if you know me, you know newborn photography isn't just my job. It's my favorite thing to photograph. There is something so special about those tiny little fingers, sleepy cuddles, and getting to meet a family during one of the happiest chapters of their lives.
I miss hearing the white noise machine.
I miss wrapping babies.
I miss watching parents fall in love with every image on the back of my camera.
And I especially miss my favorite part of every session... unwrapping a baby at the very end and getting that perfect little newborn scrunch. If you're a newborn photographer, you know exactly what I'm talking about. 🥹
I miss being behind my camera more than I can put into words.
Looking through sessions like this reminds me why I can't wait to get back.
Until then, I'll just keep counting down the days. 🤍
