Today I had the opportunity to step a little outside my usual photography world and photograph a disaster response drill right here in Ackerman! 🚨📸

So many of our local emergency response agencies and first responders came together to train, coordinate, and prepare for the situations we all hope never happen. I’m not even going to attempt to name every department involved because there were A LOT 😂 but getting to document the teamwork, skill, and dedication behind the scenes was such a cool experience. You can see who all played a part over on the Ackerman Police Department page!

So thankful for every first responder who gives their time to train and prepare to keep our communities safe!

Things I solemnly swear to do for you on your wedding day as your photographer:

• Bustle your dress even though I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing
• Fix your veil, hair, lashes, b***s, necklace, and pretty much your entire emotional state
• Hold your bouquet, phone, shoes, drink, vows, and dignity
• Hunt down the missing groomsman
• Pin a boutonnière because apparently no one in America knows how so I had to figure it out
• Hype you up like you’re walking the Met Gala
• Find Grandma
• Lose Grandma
• Find Grandma again
• Lay on the ground, climb on things, run, and risk bodily harm for the shot
• Make sure you actually EAT something
• Fight a timeline with my bare hands and somehow make everything happen
• Calm you down when something inevitably goes sideways
• And somehow still take thousands of pictures while doing all of the above

Basically, you book a photographer and accidentally acquire a bridesmaid, therapist, dress fluffer, family wrangler, emergency response team, professional hype woman. 💃

We are officially in BUSY SEASON, y’all! 🩷Right now, I’m floating around the 7 business day mark for gallery delivery.

Just a little reminder that business days are Monday–Friday. I do not edit on weekends! I have a wedding every single Saturday right now, and Sundays are reserved for resting, recouping, and spending time with my babies before we do it all over again. 😂

I’m working through galleries in the order they were photographed and putting the same love and attention into every single one. I know how exciting it is waiting for your photos, and I promise I’m just as excited to get them back to you!
