Infant and Pediatric CPR/AED, Choke Saving Class

Monthly on select Tuesday evenings at Illuminated Birth & Company in Acton—First class Tuesday, 5/26!

Taught by Bonnie Rovics, an American Heart Association Certified CPR and BLS (basic life savings) Trainer who specializes in infant/pediatric parent and caregiver training.

What to Expect:

Parents and Caregivers will learn the up-to-date, evidence-based techniques for CPR/AED and Choke Saving for newborns and infants, as well as children and adults.
�We will also cover…

* how to use an AED
* the newest choke saving updated version of what we formerly called the Heimlich maneuver
* understanding breath
* compression for different sizes and ages

Students will get to practice on adult, child, and baby manikins with support from our instructors.

* Students can take turns on the newest feedback manikins!

Who is this for?

Classes are for parents and primary care givers, but may be helpful for family and friends who will be regularly caring for children.

Are you and your winter baby ready for spring? 🌸 Come join us for six weeks of support and camaraderie in a cozy, relaxed setting at Illuminated Birth & Company!

Hosted by Jen Patashnick, a postpartum doula, this group is part support, part information, and part building your village by meeting other new parents!

The first session will be an “ask me anything” session to raise questions from the group, get to know each other, and determine the focus of each of the following weeks. Topics could be things like…

* feeding
* sleep
* healing from birth
* adjusting to parenting
* changes in relationships
* getting out and about with baby
* first milestones …and more!

You get to decide what you want to talk about each week, with an experienced postpartum doula and new parent educator guiding you along the way and answering your questions.

🫶🏻 Who is this for?
 Moms/birthing parents primarily (although partners can come along if needed for support)!
 Participants are encouraged to come as you are—pajamas are great!—with their babies who are ideally less than ~3/4 months by the date of the first session.   Sign up at the link in my bio!

New Date: 7/28! Unlock the mysteries of movement for labor progress!

You’ve probably heard that movement in labor and frequent position changes help things to progress. Most childbirth education classes don’t get a chance to go into much more depth than that with so much other content to get through, which leaves a lot of questions…

What movements are best when?

What if there’s a stall in progress?

Is there anything I can do during pregnancy to help prepare for a smoother birth?

Enter the Spinning Babies Parent Class!

This class is designed to teach you how to use movement and balance intentionally during pregnancy and birth to make space for baby, allowing for more ease and comfort.

Taught by Bec Conant of Om Births (a Spinning Babies Parent Educator, yoga teacher, doula, and the author of The Om Births Approach), this class will give you the tools you need to understand the baby’s path through the pelvis and how your position changes can help that process! Take it from a doula who uses Spinning Babies regularly at births—it’s a game changer!

Coming up at Illuminated Birth & Co: A Sound Bath with Lauren Vingiano ()

What is a sound bath?🥣😌

A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are immersed in sound frequencies created by various instruments, such as singing bowls, drums and chimes. The sounds are intended to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. It’s called a bath because you are “bathed” in the sound waves and energetic frequencies that bring your mind and body back into balance and harmony.

What you need to know…

All are welcome—I know a lot of our programming at IB & Co is for expecting and new families, but this is for anyone looking to treat themselves to a relaxing, meditative experience. 💛
