“Who does something like this?”
When I think about all of the beautiful souls who have stepped into the studio over the years, I’m just….truly amazed. It’s hard to put into words.
If you’re on the outside looking in, I think bo***ir can seem like so many things (and that’s because it is) - but I think it can be intimidating because for a long time bo***ir was often associated with the male gaze, modeling, tall/thin/skinny agendas, hyper-feminine vibes, etc.
So when I’m sitting on the floor with you, helping you fall into your pose, I want you to know my clients are people - people who have worked really hard to be where they’re at, people with families, people who spill their coffee on themselves driving to work. They are people who spend their time being makers, creatives, managers, healthcare workers, photographers, pharmacists, restaurant employees, tattooers & piercers, mental health providers, mother figures, retired, IT pros, realtors, customer service reps. And so many more.
They are every day people living their lives. They are people who give a s**t. And honestly they’re probably fellow weirdos like me lol.
And this kind of art exists to remind you of….you. What it feels like (re)connecting to yourself, your body, and your magic that can’t be replicated. Connecting to yourself on a deeper level. Giving yourself presence that isn’t the daily norm - home, kids, or work. A space to celebrate how cool it is to be in this body in an artistic way - to make art that feels like something.
