Hi, my name is Shawn Reeder and I am a destination wedding and adventure elopement photographer who specializes in Yosemite, Nevada City, Lake Tahoe, the Eastern Sierra, Big Sur, and beyond. I believe in capturing the moment as opposed to creating the moment. This allows your unique beauty to truly come through. Most of the day I'll be capturing moments as they unfold; the laughs, the cries, the l

ooks, precious moments that can never be recreated. Ample time is also given to traditional group portraits, but we get through them quickly so that you and your guests are free to enjoy the celebration. I always recommend setting aside some time to get some really beautiful, natural, romantic portraits. This a wonderful opportunity to get some time together away to relax and enjoy each other, and to also take the opportunity to find the best locations and light for some stunning images. I’ll help guide you into flattering light and allow you to have some special time together while I capture images from off in the distance. I love the moments when people have totally forgotten that I’m there, and I can capture them in their truest essence. Everyone has a beauty that is only theirs. I strive to capture this with my photography. Your wedding is an expression of love and commitment like no one else’s, and I wouldn’t treat it any other way. Golden aspens, crisp mountain air, and two days of celebrating love in the Colorado high country 🍂🏔️

This intimate wedding at (Schmid Family Ranch) outside Telluride was pure magic. Late September brought peak fall color, and the entire landscape was glowing — golden meadows, colorful hillsides, and those wide open mountain views that make you feel like you’re standing inside a painting.

Even though we’re known as Yosemite Wedding Photographers, we love traveling for love stories like this. We regularly photograph in Mammoth Lakes and the Eastern Sierra, and getting to explore other wild mountain landscapes always inspires us creatively. The San Juans definitely showed off for this one.

One of our favorite parts? This couple booked a second day so we could adventure to multiple locations and create something extra special; a full in the mountains. Watching that dress catch the wind against fall color and dramatic peaks was unreal ✨

And yes… if you ever want wedding or portrait photos with your horse, just know, we are 100% in 🐴🤍

The Alabama Hills might just be one of the most underrated spots in the Eastern Sierra for elopements and engagement sessions.

Wide open space. Endless, glowing light. Granite boulders, desert tones, and the Sierra rising dramatically in the background.

Hi, we’re Shawn & Brittany, the real-life couple and creative team behind Yosemite Wedding Photography ♥️

Yosemite and the Eastern Sierra aren’t just places we work… they’re where our love story began. We met here, fell in love here, and built our life around these mountains. That’s why we understand so deeply why this place calls to so many couples who want to get married surrounded by granite cliffs, towering peaks, alpine light, and wild open spaces.

You may have noticed we’ve been quiet on social media. This past year brought multiple losses in our family, the passing of a close friend, and a season of helping Shawn’s disabled sister find a safe new home after the death of his mom. It was a tender, heavy chapter, and we needed to step back and focus on family.

But even during that time, we never stopped showing up for our couples. We had a truly beautiful year filled with kind, adventurous humans who trusted us with their wedding and elopement days, proposals, engagement sessions, and flying dress sessions, and we’re so grateful for every one of them.

Outside of weddings, we’re happiest in the outdoors, traveling the western U.S., wandering mountain ranges, chasing light along the coastline, and exploring red rock deserts. We love gardening, hiking, climbing, healthy living and we both share a deep passion for landscape photography. Wild places aren’t just our backdrop, they’re part of who we are.

That’s why we feel so connected to couples who feel the same pull toward nature and who share a special love for Yosemite and the Sierra.
