Happy Birthday to Master Michael Yuhasz!

Master Michael A. Yuhasz has been studying and training in Taekwondo for over thirty-five years and is the owner and operator of Adirondack Taekwondo and Fitness Center, Inc. He is a former Taekwondo competitor earning a Gold Medal in the US Open while also competing internationally in St. Petersburg Russia. After competing Master Yuhasz attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York earning a degree in Elementary Education.

After teaching in the Public School setting Master along with his wife Mrs. Mary Yuhasz started their journey as small business owners. Master Yuhasz personally developed Adirondack Taekwondo’s curriculum to include traditional Taekwondo, self-defense and sport style sparring. In addition to the physical aspects of Taekwondo Master Yuhasz utilized his degree in education to include character education and life skills with in the curriculum.

Master Yuhasz’s teaching philosophy is that, Taekwondo is an extrinsic martial art with many internal benefits. Leading students to become a well-rounded person in and out of the Taekwondo School.

Shihan Joe Sagarese began training around 1970’s under Tomoji Kidachi in a system that included Shukokai and Kyukoshin karate. He, as a brown belt, started the Galway Karate Club in 1972, which continues today as Golden Eagle Martial Arts. He was a prominent competitor and official at Capital District tournaments through the 1970’s. In 1982 he relocated to the west coast where he continued to train, compete, and instruct with some of the biggest names in the martial arts. Before returning to the Capital District in 1992, he coached his wife and fellow black belt, Theresa, to the Pacific Northwest Tuff Woman Championship. Since then, he’s introduced many new skills and self-defenses to the Galway Karate Club and Golden Eagle Martial Arts dojos, under the direction of Hanshi Paul Munchbach and then Hanshi Chris Malley, to develop a more rounded system known as Inuwahi Do. He helped coach several to victories at the American International Karate Championships. He’s had a lifelong passion for boxing and has coached several area athletes to victories for the Adirondack Region in the Empire State Games as well as the professional ranks. Throughout his career he has always earned the respect and admiration of his students, athletes, instructors, family, and the extended martial arts and boxing community.

Master Danny Grant!

Served in the US Air Force - 1962-1966, a Veteran of Vietnam.
In 1962 began training in Okinawan Goju-Ryu prior to going to Vietnam, In 1971 he began training in Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo under 4th Dan Phillip Gergi. In 1974 he was awarded 1st Dan from Grand Master Wan-Kook Y-D-Lee, in 1976 he was awarded 1st Dan Certificate from Un Yong Kim, President of the K*k Ki Won. In 2012 he was warded his 7th Dan Certificate from Grand Master Sung J Park, 9th Dan, Chung Do Kwan USA Inc.

In 1974 he began teaching in Hudson, NY, he had schools in Troy NY, Red Rock NY and Hudson NY.
Has been training for 60 years and teaching for 38 years.
He Retired from full time teaching in 2015 but continues to visit and teach in all schools frequently.
