Franklin, Wiggles (sister) and I all live in Albuquerque, NM. Franklin is a rescue that found me after I lost my Mini Dachshund, girl, Casey. He is a sweet, affectionate, gentle little spirit that came from an abusive environment but now lives peacefully, acting as a model, in my little home studio. The photo was shot with a Lumix 5sii, 50mm, f9, iso 100, 1/60 shutter speed and a 2-flash set up.

Freeport, Illinois

This is a close-up of a flower called a cineraria. It?s from a color slide taken back in the late 70s/early 80s. I bet many others also have older images that the rest of us would like to see.9

I was taking photos of red gebera daisies as part of a red challenge for a photo group. They are one of my favorite flowers to photograph. I love the small details in the flower that you can capture with a macro lens.

Eagle Nest, NM

This photo was taken in May 2023. I had just gotten my Canon 100mm Macro lens and was giving it a test run in front of the shop where I work at in Eagle Nest. Since flies seem to stay still a little longer than most insects it was a great test subject. I was amazed at the detail I got with my new lens.

my garden

I was outside in my garden with the freshly bloomed flowers watching the birds while eating lunch and saw some little bees flying around. Ran in to grab my camera and captured this after watching them for a little while bounce from flower to flower

San Juan Mountains, Colorado

Back in June 2017 myself and another photographer spent three nights camping in the San Juan Mountains around Silverton, Colorado photographing the Milky Way with different foregrounds. On this particular night we camped on a small piece of BLM land next to a ghost town at 11,000 feet. At 9:30, when we could easily see the Milky Way from our campsite, we packed up our gear and hiked up to the town.

My photography gear included a Sony a7R2 with a 14mm f/2.8 lens, a flash, a tripod, and a small, adjustable panel light with a stand. Once we got there, she went her way and I went mine. Eventually we both ended up at this house, where she could take advantage of my panel light, and I could appreciate the light that she placed inside.

That was a very quiet, peaceful and spooky night where the Milky Way was hard to miss while the glowing eyes in the distant dark kept getting closer and closer to us. Eventually the deer were within 100 feet, curious what 2 odd humans were doing in their nice little ghost town.

After a couple hours, we finally called it a night and hiked back down to our campsite. Where I took a few more Milky Way photos, before climbing in the back of my truck, hoping that the photos looked as good on my computer, as they looked on my cameras display

Albuquerque

This was taken during a recent Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. There are times when color is better suited to an image, while black & white works better in other cases. This is one of those ?black & white times.?
