Silhouetted, spiny limbs carve a lace-like frame around a low, luminous moon as the sky graduates from deep indigo to soft lavender and pale rose. The scene portrays a moment of hushed contrast: dense, tactile darkness in the foreground set against a quietly glowing orb and horizontal bands of dusk that feel almost watercolor-smooth.

Close-up textures of thorny branches produce a delicate fringe that softens the silhouette, suggesting both resilience and fragility. Negative spaces between limbs act like windows, directing the eye to the moon and distant ridgelines, while subtle shifts in color give the horizon a gentle, breathing rhythm.

Light here is minimal but decisive. The moon’s warm, creamy disk reframes the scene’s cool palette, offering a focal point that calms without overpowering. The overall mood leans contemplative—an evening hush where shapes and shadows speak more than detail.

Suitable for a room that benefits from a quiet focal piece, this image brings a meditative presence and a refined contrast to interiors seeking subdued drama.

Where do you spend the most time? Does the art in that room actually reflect how much time you spend there?

The spaces we use most deserve the most thought.

On my mind lately: "No More Prayers"

1st Snow, Jemez NM

Guiding rays of light break through a blanket of clouds, illuminating a pristine winter landscape. Towering evergreens, draped in soft snowfall, create a tranquil scene. The contrast of dark trunks against white branches evokes a sense of peaceful solitude. A gentle hush blankets the area, inviting quiet contemplation. This work subtly enhances any space, offering a window into nature's serene embrace.

Here is a question worth sitting with: what do you actually see when you walk into your own home?

Not what is there, but what do you still notice? What draws your eye?

What have you stopped seeing because it has been there so long?

"We Three Trees" and the online art gallery is here, if you need to switch things up.
