Over the years I've had the honor to photograph Courtney and her beautiful family in a variety of life's seasons. Recently I had the opportunity to photograph Courtney's work family as well.

With a booming counseling business, a growing staff, and a need for an updated website, I spent a fun afternoon hanging out with this talented group of women. The work these incredible women do for our community around mental health is top notch, commendable, and is in high demand.

Is there anything more important than the people in our lives? This lifestyle shoot was the perfect way to document an extended family visit here in Albuquerque. These unposed, natural sessions are the perfect way to capture the relationships, fun, laughs, and time spent together. My clients go home with an enormous gallery with a variety of shots to remember and treasure the time spent with family. I can't wait till the next one!!!

I don't think this "Sweet 16 Photoshoot" could have been any sweeter! I attribute that fact to my darling client and her fun mama!!
"Can I bring my puppy to the shoot?"
"Can we get a shot with my truck?"
I absolutely love when my clients come with ideas for their sessions and are up for an adventure!!
Today was fun!! Looking forward to the next (warm) one!! ;)

Today I am especially grateful for wonderful friends, an incredible teacher, fate, desert sunsets, and for people that continue to grace my life in ways I never imagined! Wishing you both all the happiness and love in this adventure called life!!! xo

The last time I saw this young lady she was a young 6 year old student at the school I taught at whom I admired greatly. From a very young age, Chloe exhibited a personality and confidence I imagine every parent dreams of, especially for their daughter. This family had the unique tradition that on school photo day, their children could wear whatever they wanted. Her big brother was in my class way back then and although I don't remember what he wore on school photo day, I definitely remember the gist of what Chloe wore: a tiara on her head, a gigantic yellow boa around her neck, and large purple circus sunglasses on her face. I smile just thinking about it.
When the serendipitous opportunity to photograph this soon to be Maryland high school graduate provided itself, I jumped at the opportunity! I am absolutely honored to have the chance to reconnect, hang out with this cool kid, and tell her mama, "Good job!" Not only is she a bombshell, but incredibly smart, a joy to be around, and a wonderful human being. What a tremendous job you have done raising two absolutely phenomenal children! Thank you for trusting me to capture such a monumental time in Chloe's life!

When my oldest son told me to grab my camera and come outside quick, I knew I was in for a treat. There, perched in our backyard was a beautiful dragonfly. We admired her from afar and when we got too close, she would leave her perch temporarily, and quickly return. We spent an hour in the garden playing this little game and every time she departed, to our delight, she would return. With time, the dragonfly became less afraid, allowing me to capture a close up capturing her true intricacy and beauty. Upon closer look, there was no doubt this little dragonfly was smiling.
My youngest son's inquisitive nature got the best of him and he got a little too close for her liking (video in comments). However, when he apologized to the dragonfly, she came off her perch, flew right toward him, and returned to her perch. I inferred she was saying, "It's OK!"
When I asked Owen why he thought the dragonfly continued to come back to the perch he said with certainty, "Because it's Allison!"
Signs like these bring me much comfort that Allison is still with us and she reminds us of this fact when we have our eyes and hearts wide open.

This weekend I had the honor of celebrating this phenomenal woman and her tremendous accomplishments. You see, this graduate is extra special to me. Thirteen years ago she walked into my classroom as a quiet, tentative, and shy fourth grader. When she introduced herself to me, I knew it was meant to be. Since then, I have had the privilege to watch Abby blossom into a gregarious, confident, talented woman. She has persevered through more than any one person should have to in a lifetime. And through it all, Abby not only graduated from UNM in three years, but did so with honors! Abby is poised, determined, and on a path to becoming one amazing Child Life Specialist.
Over the years I am confident that I have learned way more from Abby and her amazing family than I could have ever taught her. Although so young, Abby continues to be such an amazing source of strength and inspiration to me.
Congrats my dear Abby!!!👩‍🎓 🎉 ❤️
