I am on a mission to master global shutter flash photography. I have mapped mine manually in the past, it's a total pain, subjective where the falloff is. So I devleoped a program that measures it precisely. Even better, rather than just mapping a single setting like published in most charts it gives you the window for each setting. It also measures the falloff so you dont increase power beyond when you start capturing more flash power.
Beyond that, I shoot professionally and the biggest drawback to global shutter flash is I have to rely on my flashes to od exactly what I expect. So I have another program coming that takes that data to tell you the exact settings you can use, what to dial your delay to. I even have a planner so you can combine differnt flashes, how you plan to use them and it will give you the ideal combination of flashes from your inventory for your shoot.
Im offering the capture app for free - you get to keep your perfect flash charts after you map your own flashes. The top three contributors will also be able to have access to the second app to master their flash inventory.
Traditional charts usually only show you one delay setting and dont give you any idea when your flash settings arent giving you any more flash output - so you are increasing your power throwing away your battery and expecting your flash to get brighter when youre beyond youre aiblity to capture the flash curve. This will be a massive step change on making it easy to shoot global shutter professionally and reliably, and removing the frustration component of it.
All you need to do to use it is have a tether app (lightroom works great), a tether cable, a tripod and a grey card. Everything is well documented how to use the program and if you have any problems you can let me know and Ill help you get going.
