This is long overdue, but had the chance to shoot some personal work in Vancouver, BC, when Meliss and I were up there in September and am super excited to finally share some imagery of the incredible surroundings. First on the list is the picturesque harbor of Deep Cove, BC — swipe across to see the whole panorama! @ Deep Cove, North Vancouver, British Columbia

So thankful for another year of adventuring with this one — through beautiful forests and not-so-beautiful LA traffic, joyful laughter and sanctifying conversations, Sunday evening Trader Joe’s runs, and the impromptu In-N-Out trips when we underestimated how much to get at TJ’s. Happy 2 years, . I love you so much!

An outtake from my shoot for LIGHTER1 Bear Canisters. Jeff had walked to the next lake over for an early morning fly fishing session before we started shooting for the day, and when I saw him coming back toward the campsite I knew I had to shoot a couple frames.

Can’t resist shooting a few long exposure frames while on an overnight project in such a gorgeous location. You can see the first light of moonrise grazing the peaks on the right.

One handy thing about bear canisters is that they double as chairs in the backcountry, so I made it a point to photograph some scenes featuring that functionality in my shoot for LIGHTER1. Here the boys are chowing down on a well-deserved dinner accompanied by a beautiful alpine backdrop.

Really loved shooting this set of images of Jeff cooking up dinner. We had this gorgeous late afternoon backlight to work with that was perfect for the vibe we were going for LIGHTER1’s website, and dinner in the backcountry always smells ten times better than it normally does so the aromatic backdrop was nice as well 😋

Some more work for LIGHTER1 Bear Canisters. We were shooting these photos knowing that one of their main uses would be for widescreen website hero images, so I made sure to pull back often so the final selects could be cropped into ultra wide aspect ratios.

My shoot for LIGHTER1 Bear Canisters is featured on 's blog today! Here's a photo of David and Jeff taking a breather right when we got to the top of Kearsarge Pass at its whopping 11,700 feet. If you want to read more about the project, check out the link on WM's profile, and be sure to check out LIGHTER1.com. Many props to for creating an awesome product for the backpacking community, and a huge thanks to her for entrusting me with shooting it! More photos from the shoot to come over the course of the next week.
