Randy Cupps Photography Since 1986, A hobby turned professional, capturing beautiful faces, lovely places, and capturing God's Glory since 2021. She shoots all the fun stuff!

Since 1986, my business has grown steadily through word-of-mouth referrals, directing the focus of my photography to weddings, family portraits, and high school seniors. My wife Michelle is Nurse and an excellent photojournalism photographer who adds an amazing dimension to wedding photography. My Philosophy. I believe portrait and wedding photography should be a positive and fun experience where

a client can feel relaxed and comfortable with their surroundings. Drawing on my ability to connect with people both personally and professionally, I am able to understand and relate to the specific needs of each client. I believe a photograph is one of the most important possessions a person can have. With this, I strive to capture images that truly tell the story of your special day. A day of beautiful memories to be treasured forever.

While the moon is hiding you got'a shoot when you can and Friday night was the night but, COLD in the backyard! This image is the Sunflower galaxy, M63. It's closer to us compared to my last ones this week at only 27 million light-years away, and is about the same size as our home, the Milky Way. It only has 2 arms, but is a big florescent star forming galaxy, as you can see in the outer arms bright spots

Here is my latest image I shot from the back yard this week. It is known as the Draco triplet. (In the constellation Draco.) Three galaxies in line but not at the same distance. From Left to Right, 140 million light-years, 130 million light-years, 112 million light-years, and the tiny galaxy at the far right ( #4) is 215 million light-years away! So, I have a new record of the furthest things I've ever photographed! God blows my mind on a regular basis!!

Here's the latest image from the back yard telescope! Captured 3/19, the Cocoon Galaxy, and it's companion galaxy, ngc 4485, (small one on top.) These two galaxies have been distorted by their gravitational pull on each other and are now moving away from each other. They are about 25 million light-years away. God is amazing!

Captured 2/26, the Duck Nebula or Thor's Helmet, an emission nebula and Wolf-Rayet ring nebula located in the constellation Canis Major, about 12,000 to 15,000 light-years away. In the middle of the nebula, a central Wolf-Rayet star is blowing gas into a bubble with complex filaments. A massive star in a pre-supernova stage. It spans about 30-50 light-years across.

Captured 1/26, the Jellyfish Nebula (this image blows my mind and amazes me every time I look at it), a supernova remnant with a Pulsar in its core, located in the constellation Gemini, approximately 5000 light-years from Earth. The two stars on either side of the nebula have a radius of approximately 200-300 times our sun and are about 350 light-years away.

Captured 1/26, the Rosette Nebula is a massive,100-light-year-wide emission nebula and stellar nursery located 5,000–5,200 light-years away from Earth in the Monoceros constellation. It is sculpted by stellar winds and ultraviolet radiation from the young, hot central star cluster, NGC 2244.

Captured 10/25, (another fav) the Heart Nebula is an emission nebula of glowing gas and dark dust clouds, 7,500 light-years away from Earth and located in the Perseus Arm of our Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. In the center of the Heart Nebula are young stars from the open star cluster Melotte 15. The nebula is about 580 light-years across.

Captured 12/25, the Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Ta**us. The nebula lies in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, at a distance of about 6,500 light-years from Earth. It has a diameter of 11 light-years.

Captured 12/25 (one of my favorites!) The Horsehead Nebula is an iconic dark nebula in the constellation Orion, along with the nearby Flame Nebula, located about 1400 light-years away. The visible dark horsehead-shaped nebula emerging from the gaseous complex is an active site of the formation of "low-mass" stars. Bright spots in the Horsehead Nebula's base are young stars just in the process of forming. The dark horsehead cloud is about 3-4 light-years tall.

Captured 8/25, the Crescent Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, about 5000 light-years away. It is formed by the fast stellar wind from the Wolf-Rayet star, a very hot star at its center, colliding with and energizing the slower-moving wind ejected by the star. Its shape is a result of the collision, which is a shell and two shock waves, one moving outward and one moving inward.
