Does’t anyone know how to think outside the box anymore. I have a basil plant that was pot bound and I tried to put it into larger pot but don’t have enough good soil for it. All I need is 1-2 cups of good soil. I asked a local nursery if they could give me a cup full. No. Buy a whole bag. I don’t need a whole bag just for one plant.
Next was Walmart. They had a whole wagon full of almost dead plants in pots and one pot had just soil in it , no plant. I asked manager if I could have the pot with no plant. NO. They needed to account for each plant before being discarded. I suggested just putting the soil in a Walmart bag, they could keep the pot and account for it. Still NO. “Walmart does not give away things for free”. They would rather discard than give something away. Even after offering to pay, no barcode on it so not for sale.

So my little plant sits in a pot almost dead all for lack of a cup of soil!

Very sad state of affairs. 🤨
