This is the kind of sunset that makes you stop mid-sentence.

The Little Missouri River caught every bit of that golden sky and held it like glass. For a few minutes, everything was doubled — the trees, the clouds, the light, the quiet.

I love those moments when nature doesn’t yell for attention. It just whispers, “look again.”

I love photographing places where nature and history overlap, because it feels like you’re seeing two timelines at once....

I love photographing places where nature and history overlap, because it feels like you’re seeing two timelines at once. Boze Spring is gorgeous on its own, but those stones and old mill pieces make you wonder about the people who stood here before us—what they worried about, what they celebrated, what life sounded like with the mill running. Now the only “engine” is the spring itself, steady and cold, and somehow that’s even more impressive. If you could only take one photo here, would it be the pool, the ruins, or the branch leading to the river?

Not every beautiful sky is soft and sweet.

Sometimes it rolls in dark and heavy, with clouds stacked like mountains and the whole pasture going quiet underneath it. The kind of sky that makes you stand still for a second because it feels bigger than you.

I love that about nature. It doesn’t only show us peace. Sometimes it shows us power. Sometimes it reminds us that God’s creation can be gentle and fierce, comforting and wild, all in the same breath.

And yes, I absolutely stood there taking pictures instead of acting like a normal person. Priorities.
