Welcome to Rose Rock Studios, where photography meets the heart and soul of my heritage and family legacy. As a proud member of the Choctaw Nation Native American tribe, the name Rose Rock Studios holds deep significance for me. It is a tribute to my ancestors who endured the arduous journey on the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma, which I now call home. The name also pays homage to my maternal grandpar

ents, Mary Ann and Sam Wade, whose presence in my life has left a permanent mark. Throughout my childhood, my grandparents' home was adorned with rose rocks, and those unique geological wonders became symbols of love, strength, and resilience. They remind me of the precious memories I shared with my grandparents and the boundless love they showered upon me. She had an innate talent for capturing breathtaking landscapes during her travels and family vacations. Additionally, she immortalized our cherished moments by photographing her grandkids at every school activity. Those photographs were then skillfully transformed into stunning acrylic paintings, a testament to her artistic prowess. My grandfather, Sam Wade, was a farmer who found joy in simple pleasures like Braum's ice cream, vast wheat fields, and hot coffee with a splash of milk. His genuine love for life and the land left an enduring impression on me. We lost my grandpa Sam to cancer in Oct. 2018 and my grandma followed in Nov. of that year. However, their legacy lives on through the gifts and talents they shared with us during their time on this Earth. It is in their memory and honor that I founded Rose Rock Studios. The name "Rose Rock Studios" emerged after months of heartfelt conversations with my husband and family members, as we sought a name that could encompass the essence of my heritage and the love I hold for my grandparents. In the end, it became clear that this name perfectly embodies the spirit of my journey. I am thrilled about the adventures that await me on this creative path, and I eagerly anticipate the new memories and friendships that Rose Rock Studios will help me forge. As I embark on this journey, I am reminded of the stories of my ancestors and the love that surrounds me, empowering me to capture and preserve the beauty of life through the lens of my camera. During a recent family photo shoot, it became abundantly clear that Joanna shared a special connection with each of her grandchildren. The way she looked into their eyes, the gentle touch of her hand on their shoulders, and the way she laughed with them.

In those moments, I was reminded of the incredible power of family ties. The way she embraced her grandchildren was a living example of how precious and irreplaceable these relationships are. In a timeless tale of 65 years, Nana and Papa's love shines brighter than ever! ✨

Nana and Papa's enduring bond is an inspiration, a testament to love's strength across the ages. Their legacy lives on through their granddaughter, my dear college friend with whom I shared laughter, sang in University Singers, and even lived together. 🎶

The nostalgia of these black and white images brings back a flood of memories, reminding me of the treasured moments shared with my maternal grandparents, whom I lost in 2018. It serves as a poignant reminder of the value of time spent with grandparents, creating lasting memories to be cherished forever.

This session left me with a profound sense of gratitude and reflection. As a photographer, I'm blessed to witness and freeze precious moments that beautifully narrate the journey of motherhood. These images made me reflect on my own journey as a mother and realize I still had a lot to unpack emotionally with adjusting to life with two kids.

The first image speaks volumes about the initial worries a mother could be facing when expecting her second child. The uncertainty, the fear of not having enough love to go around, and the questions that linger in her mind. But, oh, how beautifully she embraces the challenge!

The second and third images are when you'll witness that radiant smile!😊✨ It's the moment when all those doubts dissolve into the pure joy of loving her children wholeheartedly. A mother's heart has an incredible capacity to expand and nurture every little soul that comes into her life. The laughter, the giggles, and the bond that's forming between siblings are beyond precious.

🌄 Amidst the warmest embrace of the Gloss Mountains, I captured a moment that'll echo the purest love and anticipation. As the sun dipped below, painting the sky with hues of gold and pink, this beautiful family of three stood hand in hand, hearts intertwined, on the cusp of an incredible journey.

📸 With each click, I felt the magic unfold—a family about to grow, embracing the imminent arrival of a precious new life. Sierra radiated strength and tenderness as she cradled the life within. Derek held his family close, ready to embrace the adventure ahead.
