One of the things I noticed almost immediately about Adriana & Daniel is how effortless their connection is.

There wasn’t any pressure to create a moment or force a reaction. They simply showed up as themselves, talking, laughing, and enjoying an evening together.

I think that’s one of the things I love most about engagement sessions. They’re one of the few moments during wedding planning when everything slows down for a little while. No timelines, no decisions to make, no emails to answer. Just an hour set aside to be together.

It was such a joy getting to document this season for them. 💜

They’ll tell them they were loved long before they were ever held.

Black and white has a way of quieting the distractions.

What’s left is everything that matters.
A growing family.
A childhood unfolding exactly as it should.
And the kind of love that only grows bigger with each new chapter.

Well, the cat’s out of the bag. 💜

Jessica Yurko Photography was voted 3rd Place for Wedding Photography in the 2026 Chronogram Readers’ Choice Awards, and truthfully, I’ve spent most of today wondering how I got so lucky.

Not because of the award itself, but because of what it represents.

Over the years, I’ve found myself in so many rooms I never would have been invited into otherwise. Quiet moments before a ceremony. Packed dance floors. Tearful first looks. Family hugs that linger a little longer. The kind of moments that feel ordinary while they’re happening, but end up meaning everything years later.

For a few hours, I get to be there for those moments.

I get to witness them.

I get to preserve them.

And somehow, that has become my job.

This recognition isn’t something I achieved on my own. It’s the result of every couple, family, and human who trusted me enough to let me tell a small piece of their story.

So thank you.

Thank you for inviting the photographer in the checkered Vans into your lives. Thank you for trusting me with your memories. Thank you for allowing me to do work that still feels like an honor every single time I pick up my camera.

My heart is incredibly full today. 💜

oh look, it’s the many sides of Jess 😆

hi friends 🤍 if you’re new here, i’m jess — your emo-loving, japan-traveling, photography bestie

i romanticize everything
slow mornings that feel like an old memory
cool night air under the stars
an early 2000s emo song playing at the exact right moment
and yes… a slightly concerning amount of nostalgia for my childhood

oddly specific things about me:
i’m actually very introverted… which tends to shock people
i absolutely hate coffee (i know, i know… please don’t hold it against me)
i was diagnosed with ocd at a young age, which probably explains why i notice everything
i definitely have more tattoos than you think i do (sorry dad haha)
my friends say i’ve made checkered vans my entire personality, so obviously they had to make an appearance in these photos
and i will emotionally attach myself to a song for 7–10 business days like it’s my entire personality

i’m the kind of person who will fix your hair, hype you up, and then immediately get emotional over something small and fleeting

i’ve always had a camera in my hand, these days it looks like documenting people in the season of life they’re in, whether that’s weddings, celebrating love, or stepping into a new chapter

when i’m not working, i’m probably rewatching something for comfort, planning my next trip, thrifting or collecting something i definitely don’t have space for, or out on a walk with prince

anyway, i’m really happy you’re here 🫶
