Hey all, haven't posted for a while, been busy with school and life! A couple of weekends ago I got to go to Tok and be one of the official photographers for the 2018 Tok Race of Champions, one of my favorite events to shoot every year.

Here's musher Kimberly Wells flying down the trail! Kim placed 3rd in the 6 dog, 6 mile class with an impressive time of 33:10 over two days!

Here's last years Quest champion, Matt Hall of Smokin' Ace Sled Dog Kennels, preparing to leave on the 1000 miles journey from Fairbanks to Whitehorse. We have a few dogs from Matt's parents kennel in Denali! Hopefully he can bring home the win, again!

One of my favorites of my favorite dog, Cupcake!

This was taken while out mushing in Denali National Park last month. Cupcake was having a fantastic time in the lead position, just look at that smile. He did great!

Top 24?

I suppose it’s time for the obligatory “top” images of the year post. Here are some of my favorites from 2017… sorry for the formatting of some of the photos, I couldn't figure out how to rotate the vertical images and make them fit with the others, so you may have to tilt your head to view some of them!

Lots of dogs, sheep, drone, and Denali!

Thanks for the great year everyone! Here's to making 2018 an even better year filled with more dogs, sheep, Alaska, and much more!

Ice cave photographed near Portage, Alaska.

The other day a friend and I decided to try and find some popular ice caves south of Anchorage. After driving for an hour and a half and hiking for a few miles, we finally found a few caves to inspect. It's incredible to be under a glacier exploring the different caverns carved into the ice. After a while they are completely devoid of light and the only sounds are that of running water and your own breathing; it's surreal. This particular cave went about 100 feet into the glacier before turning into nothing, and it wasn't even the largest or longest cave we explored!

I want to head out there again with a tripod and some good flashlights and camping lanterns so I can make some more images!

I'm still not sure how those sheep manage to fit that hat over their horns!

While down in Denali a couple of weeks ago I got to spend some time with the newest litter! It's crazy how big the puppies are getting, pretty soon they'll be able to keep up with the best of them. Even though they are becoming bigger, they're still little piranhas that try and chew on anything they can fit in their mouths!

Here is Nepa and Topo
