A mixture of film and digital from June on Orca Island with Michael + Kayla. Their special moments really lived in the in-between out in Resurrection Bay. Water droplets glistening off their paddles, the sizzling of salmon on the deck of their private island yurt, and the excitement of searching for starfish in the tide pools. Their kayaks almost deciding to go on a solo adventure as they waited for them to return from their waterfall ceremony. Their tea party turning into a cake fight. 🤭 The unheard of sunshine of the solstice midnight sun. The whales that came into this sleepy cove the next morning, just for them to see. Every bit of it a dream. 🐋 🛶🌲🌞🏔️🐚🏕️🌊

A wedding so wild I decided to narrate it like David Attenborough on Planet Earth: 🌎

Jess + Ray migrated north from an even wilder place than here. A place where color pulses, music never sleeps, and everything moves with spice. A place only known as the electric wilds of “Miami.” And they brought it all with them. Laughter, rhythm, and a whole herd of colorful personalities in tow.

So when they dropped into the vast, untamed expanse of Alaska, they wanted more than most. They explored with a photographer’s eye, chasing views and stretching their days wide to consume as much wilderness as it would give them. They spent as many days here as they could to try to see it all! From boats, glaciers, helicopters, trips to small towns, fishing and more!

For two of those days, I tracked alongside them. Documenting something that felt less like a wedding and more like a season of a show I’d watch again and again about their love for each other and their pack. The kind of real life story you don’t want to interrupt, only witness. (Until someone yelled Buffalo, IYKYK)

And when it was over, I understood something: some migrations really stay with you. 💕

Until our paths cross again, whether back in Miami or somewhere even wilder, like Africa 🤞🏼I’ll be there, hoping you bring the Cuban coffee.

A professional sky diver and a wedding photographer kissing in a Joshua Tree 😘

On a November evening (11/11) kelsey + Andrew made their wish come true by exchanging vows under a desert sky. Later that night when the stars shined, so did a cosmic solar flare/aurora of some kind igniting the sky above red, as if the universe itself couldn’t help but celebrate and send a love letter. If that isn’t a little real life magic, I don’t know what is. 💫

Evan & Mackenzie’s June garden wedding in Alaska was held in that rare season where the light lingers and refuses to say goodnight. So as twilight settled, 802 candles joined the glow into their toasts. Quietly flickering the magic of their day even more.✨

A Hallmark tale to tell by lantern light in a snowy homestead deep in the woods…. A veterinarian met a sled dog musher while in Alaska on assignment and now they take walks through their forest to the music of howls under the Aurora and pick wild blueberries in their meadow in the summer time. Next September they are getting married at their legendary local bar down the road from them only deepening their Alaska lore and making them some of the coolest people I’ve ever met 🤘🏼🐕❄️🏔️

Some vows are meant to be spoken far from everything. Across the bay, at a cabin that lives off the map, they married on black sand under the seabirds and the soft hum of the tide as their witnesses 😩🥹

☁️ All real weddings + 1 real Vow renewal ☁️

It’s been a minute since I posted, so why not go big? I’ve been seeing this trend going around and I’m obsessed. It’s such a fun way to show how your wedding day truly reflects YOU. The colors, the atmosphere, the energy… it’s all exactly what you make it.

When I photograph a wedding, my style and tones stay consistent, but what I love most is how each wedding day morphs into its own kind of magic that is a unique and personal color palette all created with your own paintbrush. 🖌️ 🎨

So let me know what you think, does this trend help you envision what your day could look and feel like? Should I do more of these? Would you want to see other types of photography too like engagement/family/maternity? Let me know 🥹

📍Alaska is home to the Northernmost temperate rainforest in the world

Wandering through 200 year old Sitka spruce and western hemlock you don’t just walk it, you absorb it. Exhale green and inhale glacial river mist. 😮‍💨 🍃 🏔️ 🌲 if you’ve been here, you know.

(a fellow AK photographer) inspired me to see a place I’ve shot 1000 times in a different way 🫶🏻 go check her out! She made it look like the blue lagoon which is one of my favorite movies and this is exactly why I love how photography communities continually inspire eachother ☺️ + were brave to dip their feet in this glacial runoff for the end of their engagement session!

Hi again, back so soon?!

While I continue to edit everything I’ve captured this summer, I’ll keep sharing things from years ago. A few asked for more Iceland, so your wish is my command.

We all know photography isn’t just clicking a button. Anyone can take a picture. There’s so much more to it. It’s storytelling, it’s seeing, it’s gathering. Light, glances, weather patterns, the in-between. We gather it all before it disappears.

Wind that peels paint, color that screams, I live for chasing a story into the fog. But I don’t want the perfect shot. I want the real one, the one where someone’s steady hand reaches for another’s trembling one, where joy and grief blur at the edges. Where your hair isn’t perfect but instead it’s dancing in the wind. Where the subject doesn’t even realize it’s being captured.

This work feeds some feral, holy part of me. The part that believes stories are best told with goosebumps and a pounding heart. The part that feels closest to a sign from the universe when a shutter closes on something special.

This life is messy and blurry and sacred and full of motion. And I get to freeze it just for a moment so that you can hold it forever.

Here’s some of last year at our before they welcomed their little one (that was also in these pictures 🥹💕)

Dear Iceland,

It’s been a little over a year since I left you. And I still miss you everyday. Even when your weather couldn’t decide on a mood. Rain, wind, sunburn, rainbows, hail. I’d wake up every morning wondering if I should wear shorts or a snowsuit…. To which you always answered: “yes” 🥹

I miss your sheep too. Somehow their blank stares always told me so much. Mostly they just held judgment for speeding. The ponies at least liked that part….. you know, Horse power and all.

Most of all I miss the way I felt like a character in Fourth Wing everywhere I went. Searching the skies for Sgaeyl, tip toeing basalt column parapets and wandering the ruins of Basgiath’s enemies. My dragon never came for threshing. But maybe next time.

Until we meet again,
The weird girl with tangled red hair that was doing Gollum impressions in the caves of hella (that will probably jog your memory)

Anyways here is smooching and stuff at 😘

dear diary,

the Irish grass was damp and a shade of green I’ve never seen, the wind wouldn’t stop playing with my hair, and they held each other like the world was soft and gentle. somewhere behind them, a castle crumbled quietly into history.

I want to go back. someone take me with you. I’ll bring my camera and we’ll write stories through photos that will be a part of your own history. ☘️ 🏰 🕊️
