I spotted this Greater Yellowlegs while at bear camp. It was foraging in a tidal pool, so me and Jacques Fortier layed down in the mud at the edge to see if it would get comfortable enough to forage near us. Sure enough it wandered close. The breeze was making the water a bit choppy and I said “sure would be great if the water smoothed out.” And sure enough, a minute later, the water smoothed right out creating a beautiful environment to photograph this shorebird as it foraged.

The chase is on!

A coastal Alaskan brown bear chased fish in a small river in Halo Bay in Alaska’s Katmai National Park.

This beautiful little Red Fox trotted right down the beach towards us as we sat motionless in the driftwood. It was super curious and came to investigate. Super grateful to Sergius Hannan and Scott Stone for this incredible trip to Katmai. More to come!!
