Freedom!! I don’t know about you, but there’s something about being underwater that is so freeing. Everything is silenced. Your arms and legs move freely, your body sideways, upside down, on your belly or back. Blowing bubbles or maybe even rings. Feeling peace.
Once you learn to let go and let God take control things become more freeing. Knowing that no matter what, His plan will not fail. He will restore us. Our faith will be made strong, firm, and steadfast. How beautiful, wonderful, encouraging and freeing is our Savior.

Underwater Series 2/3

”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.“

Trials bring us closer to God. They teach us how to cling to Him in times of doubt and fear. They teach us what true full hearted submission to the Father looks like. Letting go and letting God.
The Lord uses these trials to refine us. Chipping away at things that bring us further from Him and giving us blessings that bring us towards Him.
Chipping away: envy, pride, selfishness, temptations, evil desires, fear, lust, wrong motives, etc.
Blessings He brings: peace, love, joy, hope, wisdom, kindness, perseverance, faith, etc.

Without those trials we wouldn’t be as close to Him as we are today. One of my hardest trials hit right around the end of 2020, felt a lot like this photo. Being dragged, flipped, tossed, scared, couldn’t breath, I saw no way out. I forgot about the power of the Lord and I didn’t think He heard me. I was too deep. Too far gone. I felt no extra energy to seek Him.
After a few months of lost hope, I decided to open my Bible again. I forced myself to read every day. He gently guided me in the way I should go. Like the leash from my surfboard pulling me back to the surface. I found a nutritionist, who helped me eat again. I found a therapist who helped me find passion for life again. And I found the Lord, who gave me hope to live again.
Whoever is reading this, I am praying for you. I pray that He would bring healing to you and whatever you are struggling with. I pray that you would find hope and joy in Him. Reach out to me in the comments or dm if you need specific prayer. I would love to pray for you! 🩵 you are loved.

Underwater Series 1/3

You know the feeling of falling off your board into the cold blue water, with the next wave fast approaching so you hold your breath and duck dive under the wall of water coming at you only to be flipped, pushed, and tossed around under water. Our board helps us find our direction. It gently tugs on our leg and pulls us back up to the surface.
This reminds me how the Spirit works. Gently tugging on our hearts to resurface. Guiding us in the direction we should go. Ultimately we get the decision to listen or not. What is tugging at your heart right now? Where is He calling you? Pray for Him to guide you, He will save you. Keep the faith. Stay anchored.

God can speak to us in all kinds of ways. I love the way He makes things clear by giving people signs like this. Or like the servant with the camels who said, ”and if she says to me, “Drink, and I’ll draw water for your camels too,” let her be the one the Lord has chosen for my master’s son.’“
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭44‬ ‭and before he even finished praying, Rebekah came down and did exactly what he prayed.
Or even when Gideon asks God, in Judges 6, three different times to give him a sign if he is hearing Him correctly and the Lord answers all of them.

While these signs and answers from God are really cool and encouraging, we have to be careful when asking for signs. I have had many wild signs happen that I could never explain. But I’ve also asked for some and not had them answered, we have to have the right mindset and heartset when asking the Lord for these and know there could be many reasons why He’s not answering. Pray specific prayers and see how the Lord works over time. Whether He’s working on the other thing/person, or maybe He’s even changing your heart. Which seems to be the case a lot. I pray over you and your prayers, that the Lord would answer them and make things clear for you.

Its wild to think what one little light can do. To capture this photo I turned on the smallest/dimmest light in the house so that I could still see the Northern lights.

I think this is a good thing to ask ourselves daily. Are we trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? The only approval that matters is that of God.

How often do we do this? How often do we get away from the crowds, busyness, chaos, to spend one on one time with the Lord? This is something He is teaching me in this season. Teaching me how to pray, what to pray for, and how to listen for what He is telling me in the silence. Prayer does not always receive immediate answers. Although I have experienced immediate answers to requests. But many times it involves patience, trust, and a lot of waiting. He works in ways that we don’t understand from a worldly perspective which is why trusting Him and the things He tells us is so important. And He is teaching us in the waiting. Growing us in different ways that we might not understand until years later. But He is working. He is always there. And He always will be.
A prayer journal has become my best friend in the season. I highly encourage you to try it. Once a day, write a prayer, it doesn’t matter how long, just do it. Watch how spending this one on one time with the Lord grows you.

Land of the midnight sun ☀️

To answer the questions in the last post…
What am I receiving from God and how am I putting it into practice?
Recently God shifted my perspective to trust what He is telling me. I don’t know about you, but for me, I will hear something from God and pray on it and then when it doesn’t happen, I give up assuming I heard incorrectly. But God has been teaching me what true faith means. Like the story of Elijah praying on the rain. It hadn’t rained for over 3 years, but then God told him it was going to rain and he trusted Him. Elijah went up to the mountain top and started praying. It was blue sky’s, not a cloud in sight, but he prayed fervently. He sent his servant to check if any clouds appeared, nope, nothing… finally on the 7th time he checked, a small cloud was forming on the horizon. And soon it was pouring. How beautiful is that kind of faith?!
What’s the longest you’ve waited for God to answer a prayer? Are you in a waiting season right now? Do you trust Him fully?
