Finding the story, unposed.

In the quiet, I am listening and watching for stories to scream.

A captain’s hat resting where it was left. The lines of a historic ship reaching toward the sky. A tiny ladybug hidden among the flowers.

None of these moments were arranged. They were already speaking. I only had to become still enough to hear them and observant enough to capture them.

While others may pass by, I notice what is quietly happening right beside us. That is where I often find the stories waiting to be seen. 💙📸

What is in your hands?

God asked Moses, “What is that in thine hand?” It was only a rod, but surrendered to God, it became part of something much greater.

Sometimes we focus so much on what we no longer have that we overlook what God has already placed within our reach.

My body has slowed down, and my camera may be at rest right now, but the work is not. I still have my voice, my experiences, my faith, and a neurodivergent brain that does not stop creating lol. Since April, I have been turning those things into books, and there are more to come.

You may not have everything you wish you had, but what is in your hands today? Begin there. Use what you have. Take the step you can take, and trust God with what grows from it. 💙

I created this step-by-step writing guide for people who have a book idea, a story, knowledge, or something they want to share but aren't quite sure how to turn it into an actual book.

Sometimes photography is about going somewhere to find the shot.

And sometimes… you walk out onto your balcony and the Blue Angels fly right into your view. 💙💛

I caught this moment from home, and yes this image has intentionally been altered a little and heavily marked for posting. The original photograph is clean, clear, and safely tucked away. 😉

As a photographer, I love sharing what I see through my lens, but protecting my work matters too. So sometimes you’ll see a purposely “messed up” version online while the real photograph stays protected.

Because Alaska has taught me something:

You never really know what you're going to see when you look outside.

Today it happened to be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. ✈️

🎬 It's finally here.

There are stories that come together in a few weeks...

And then there are stories that take years to live before you can find the words to write them.

Learning to Stay is one of those stories.

Growing up as a military BRAT taught me how to move, adapt, and begin again. But life taught me something even greater that the hardest journey isn't always learning how to leave... it's learning how to stay.

Today, I'm excited to share the official book trailer.

My hope is that whether you've moved across the world, started over more times than you can count, or simply found yourself searching for where you belong, you'll see a little piece of yourself in this journey.

I am truly grateful for this journey.

When I first started creating these books, I hoped they would encourage creativity, bring a little peace, and help people discover something new. Seeing them now reaching readers in different countries and being used in homes, classrooms, libraries, and other settings is more than I imagined.

Every conversation has become a learning opportunity. As I hand out my business card and meet new people, businesses and individuals are sharing ideas, needs, and ways these books can make a difference. Those conversations are inspiring many of the new projects I'm working on.

Today there are 14 books available, with many more on the way. My goal is to continue creating resources for children, adults, educators, families, and communities that encourage learning, creativity, healing, and exploration.

One project I'm especially excited about is creating books that help teach different languages so even more people can learn, connect, and enjoy them together.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey by purchasing a book, sharing a post, recommending my work, or simply encouraging me to keep creating. Seeing smiles on people's faces is one of the greatest rewards, and I'm excited to see where this journey leads next. I have physically signed books here in Alaska to people who have taken them to their homes all around the world. Photography has really opened a lot of interesting doors I am glad that I picked up the camera and didn't let go when things went downhill. If you have a vision go for it. Don't rush just do. Some days, strength looks nothing like we imagined.

It isn't standing on a mountaintop with everything figured out.

Sometimes strength is simply getting out of bed.

Showing up when no one sees the effort.

Choosing kindness when life has been unkind.

Trying again after disappointment.

Praying when you don't yet have the answers.

We often celebrate the big victories, but God sees the quiet ones too.

If all you did today was refuse to give up...

I'm proud of you.

Keep taking one step at a time.

God isn't finished with your story.

There are days when it feels like you're standing in the dark, wondering if the sun is ever going to rise.

Maybe you're waiting for healing.

Maybe you're waiting for an answered prayer.

Maybe you're simply trying to make it through one more day.

The sunrise doesn't rush.

It arrives exactly when it's supposed to.

Maybe that's a reminder for us, too.

Not everything beautiful happens overnight.

Some blessings take time.
Some dreams require patience.
Some seasons are preparing you for what comes next.

If today feels heavy, don't lose hope.
