☀️LAST DAYS OF SUMMER MINIS ☀️

September 7 • Labor Day 5:30-7:30pm
September 12 • Saturday 5:30-7:30pm

Let them get wet.
Let them get sticky.
Let them be little.

Last summer these became some of my favorite sessions I photographed all year, so I’m squeezing them in ONE more time before DMP officially gives in to fall and holiday session season.

Sprinklers. Watermelon. Popsicles. Bare feet. Bikes. Grass-stained knees. All those completely ordinary pieces of childhood that somehow become the things we miss the most.

A handful of spots. 20 images.
A whole lot of childhood.

And Mom + Dad, get in a few. Someday they’re going to want proof you were there for these summers, too. ❤️

Booking is live at the link in my bio! Limited spots available!!

Apparently everyone has moved on to pumpkins.

I have not. 😂☀️

The last 2 summers I photographed some of my FAVORITE sessions ever.

Sprinklers. Watermelon juice running down little arms. Popsicles melting faster than they could eat them. Bare feet. Bikes. Tricycles. Sticky hands. Grass-stained knees.

Basically, childhood exactly as I want to remember it.

So yes, it’s September.
Yes, school has started.
And yes, I’m squeezing
ONE. MORE. THING.
out of summer before I surrender DMP to fall family and holiday minis season.

☀️ LAST DAYS OF SUMMER MINIS ☀️

These aren’t really family minis.
They’re childhood sessions.

The kind of photos that feel like the ones sitting in a box at your parents’ house from 1994.

No perfect outfits.
No everyone-look-at-me-and-smile.
No apple orchard.
No pumpkins. 😂

Just your kids being exactly who they are right now.

Running through the sprinkler. Eating watermelon. Riding bikes. Chasing each other through the yard. Getting sticky and wet and wonderfully wild.

Because somehow we spend all summer MAKING the memories, and then September comes and we realize we barely photographed ourselves in them.

So we’re fixing that. ☀️

TWO LAST SUMMER NIGHTS:

☀️ Labor Day • September 7
☀️ Saturday • September 12

Very limited spots because apparently I waited until September to decide I’m emotionally incapable of letting summer go. 😂

LINK IN BIO to grab your spot!

Booking is LIVE.

Summer isn’t over until I say it’s over. ☀️

Last week I turned 38, and I realized it’s probably been way too long
since I’ve actually shown my face around here, so hey? 😜

I’m Dayna. The heart, the hustle, and the actual human behind Dayna Mae Photography

I’d love to tell you I’m keeping up with the ever-changing social media algorithms, but the truth is, my clients find me through real
conversations, genuine connections, and referrals. If that’s an

algorithm… it’s my favorite one.

Twenty years ago, when I started Dayna Mae
Photography with a fresh degree, I remember adding a couple years to my age whenever people asked how old I was (especially while shooting weddings. And yes… people asked.) As if my height wasn’t a dead giveaway. I was convinced no one would trust a teenager to
photograph one of the biggest days of their lives.

Fast forward twenty years… and I still get asked if I’m old enough to drive, just less often because . Apparently my height hasn’t changed much—only my love for what I
create and the friendships I’ve made along the way.

(Yes, I am still old enough to drive. And no, I don’t need a booster seat… yet.)

Truth be told, I’m not the same girl who started this business.

Not even close.

I’m a wife to my high school sweetheart, a mama to four crazy, beautiful kids (one still in diapers, one starting kindergarten this fall, and two
in elementary school), and somewhere between the trenches and the beauty of motherhood, I realized photographs were never really about perfect smiles.

They’re about slowing down time.

Motherhood changed that for me.

Now, the little things wreck me in the best way.

Tiny hands reaching for yours.

The way your dad looks at you walking down the aisle.

The missing front teeth.

Wrinkly newborn toes.

Grandma laughing so hard she snorts.

The moments you never would’ve thought to pin on a Pinterest board.

(And while we’re at it… shameless disclaimer: please don’t send me a Pinterest board full of poses. I might actually cry.)

Because I don’t create poses.

I chase them.

Through real connection. Real interaction. And, more often than not, making a complete fool of myself to get the genuine laugh you’re hoping
for.

A few completely unrelated facts…

I can demolish an entire bag of Mamba chews or Peanut M&M’s without a shred of guilt.

I will probably cry during your vows.

My photographer superpower is making people who “hate having their picture taken” forget there’s even a camera there.

I’m not the cheapest photographer around.

But I am incredibly loyal.

I’ve watched clients go from surprise proposals… to weddings… to babies… and this year, some of the newborns I photographed are now seniors.

How is that even possible?

If you’ve trusted me with your story over the last twenty years… thank you.

Truly.

And if you’re new here, I’d love to get to know you!

Tell me… how did you find my page? Or, if we’ve known each other for years, tell me when we first met. I have a feeling some of these answers
are going to make me feel really old.

Here’s to 38.

Still short.

Still chasing light.

No longer adding years to my age

And still believing the best photographs are the ones that make you feel something twenty years from now. Xox Dayna Mae

Remember last week when I said my couple wanted to be epic and dance in the monsoon of a rainstorm? Welp, here is a peek! I edited out my light stand on the left, so it looks like a giant floating beam of light but I love the way it lit the rain!

BACK INTO FULL WEDDING SEASON!
Rylee & Nathan - Sneak Peeks

Rylee & Nathan’s downtown Detroit wedding at The Gem Theater was the kind of day you leave wishing you could photograph all over again next weekend - they were just thatttttt real.

Completely down to earth, effortlessly cool, and somehow better dancers than half the “hype people” I know. Truly. They came with moves, and contagious laughs.

One of my favorite details from the day, Rylee’s ring was crafted using gold melted down from her grandparents’ wedding rings. Such a beautiful way to carry legacy into a new beginning.

And the Gem Theatre? Historic Detroit magic at its finest. Velvet seats, gold ceilings, moody light, and the kind of atmosphere that makes every moment feel cinematic.

These two made the entire day feel easy, joyful, and genuinely fun to be part of. Hello 2026 wedding season, starting strong!

Are they just photos… or a gift to your future self?
Living in the days of blur and chaos, a pause on the things that feel ordinary now… but someday won’t ♥️

Give yourself or a mama in your life, the gift of living in a moment that someday she'll ache to remember.

Wrapping up mama & me minis- but would love to add more because moms need to feel the moments inside the frames, too!

Comment "MAMA" if you wanna get in on another round of mama and me minis!"
