It's hard to believe but TEN YEARS ago today I had my first paid shoot for TCJ Design. It was a newborn session for a co-worker of my husband. Today, TCJ Design is slowing a bit down. Days are filled with soccer and baseball practices and games, piano recitals, theatre events, and nights singing around the fire pit. I wouldn't have it any other way. So if you want a session this year, reach out soon. I'm mostly doing weekday evenings this summer, I think. I'm not sure what my fall life will look like with this girl graduating from eighth grade tomorrow and heading off to high school in the fall. I'm not closing the doors, but I'm hitting the pause button until I know what life looks like in this new stage.

The key for a good location for me is that I can get multiple looks in a short space. That's why I loved Goldpetal Farms Maryland and why it is one of my favorite venues from 2025. Last year, this senior session got sunflowers, zinnas, barn, and pretty purple blooms. If Goldpetal Farms Maryland has the same schedule as last year, these gorgeous flowers will be blooming in August! I have lots of openings and would love to get some flower sessions on my calendar. It all hits different when you are doing a milestone session for your own child. How is she going to high school next year? And side note: I had a former coworker who did a session at the end of eighth grade for her daughter...I need to blog it because it was amazing, and it made me want to do one with my daughter. A milestone is a milestone. It doesn't matter if it's one, senior pictures, or graduating from eighth grade. We embark on a huge transition next year... she's been in the same school since she was three! Visi, here we come.
