Everyone gathering with excitement when they see that oh hey, I am still in business!!! 🤩⁠

Trying to figure out how to run my business as a stay at home mom of two young children has been the biggest challenge this last year. But YES, I've been behind the camera this entire last year partying it up at weddings with the most amazing couples, supporting my lovely photographer friends, and documenting families as the celebrate new life.⁠

I've been so busy working IN my business that I haven't had much time to work ON it. And honestly, the longer I was away from social media, the easier it got to stay away....⁠

Can we talk about last week for a minute?? The weather cooled off just in time for Kellan and Ryan's wedding and they had the most perfect wedding on the beach right here in Annapolis 💙⁠

They arrived at Chesapeake Bay Foundation at 3pm for a first look under the trees before portraits with all their friends and immediate family. Kellan went barefoot in the sand for the ceremony (so did I!) and caught the sunset with her husband before their first dance on the deck surrounded by their loved ones.

It's wedding day for Kellan & Ryan 🙌 These two are having the sweetest coastal Annapolis themed wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation complete with a beach ceremony, an orange crush bar, napkins, and an oyster bar at cocktail hour. I'M HERE FOR IT! 💃

Things have been a little busy around here, and I mean more than just because of a packed wedding and portrait session schedule! If we aren't friends personally, you haven't seen this announcement Matt and I shared over the summer.⁠

👶 Baby Shacka #2 is due early November so my fall photo season is ending quite early this year. I'm booked through mid-October and then taking a break from being behind the camera to be with my family until February 2023. I'll still be responding to inquiries and emails during that time so be sure to drop into my inbox if you're interested in booking in 2023!⁠

Completely unintentional, but I delivered Franny and Rob's gallery from their engagement session one year before their wedding date exactly 😆⁠

This session was extra special because they chose to do their engagement session at the same private residence they're getting married in 2023. Loved being able to see the property and imagine their vision before I return next holiday weekend!⁠

Oh hi, yes, I am still around with a camera in hand. Just digging my way through edits when I'm not out photographing weddings or watching my little girl grow before my eyes. Photographed my first wedding of the year on Saturday and it was SOO fun running around a celebration full of love and excitement.⁠
⁠
But - WHEW! - my body is so out of shape and NOT used to those long wedding days 😆 My back was aching halfway through the night. My brain definitely got a workout as I flexed the muscles remembering the rhythm of a busy timeline and preferred camera settings. My feet were surprisingly fine (thanks to my new shoes that I bought this season!)

Can't wait to share the photos from the Van Gogh inspired wedding this weekend! Until then, you can enjoy this one I grabbed while second shooting for last summer 😍
