Standing on that cliff was one of the most humbling things I’ve ever experienced. I shrunk. I was unimportant.

Water crashed. Birds flew. Light cascaded. The world would’ve done the same thing if I weren’t there; I just got to experience it.

Then it hit me—God’s fingerprint on it all, I mean. His power being displayed in the crashing waves. His grace shown through the flapping of wings. And so many other things I wish I could describe.

For the first time in my life, there was a lump in my throat as I closed my eyes and inhaled the Pacific air. My back shook as I exhaled and realized the significance of what was around me.

Grace.

The Lord’s grace for a sinner like me. How I deserve none of the beautiful life around me, yet He gives it freely because He loves me. Just like He gave His Son—His perfect Son—so that I could stand on that cliff at 7:42 p.m. on June 28th, 2026, and hear the hazardous waves below.

These emotions weren’t even including the terror that rushed upon me like a wave while hearing the strength of the water pounding the rocks below. The sheer height of this cliff would send chills down, I guess, the average person. It made me feel small.

A humbling experience, to say the least, and the most beautiful moment I’ve been a part of this trip.

Thank you, Bean, for hosting an amazing retreat and for being an amazing friend. I couldn’t be where I am today without you.

And thank you, Oregon, for teaching me how amazing my God is.
