🎄 HELP ME FIND A NEW CHRISTMAS TREE FARM! 🎄

The Christmas tree set I usually use has traded ownership, so I’m officially on the hunt for a new spot this year! 🥹❤️

I’ve reached out to a few local farms already, but haven’t heard back yet, so I figured I’d put the word out here too!

If you or someone you know owns a beautiful Christmas tree farm, or even has an area on their property that gives that gorgeous, Christmas-tree-farm feel, I’d LOVE to chat! 🎄✨

I’m looking for a space where I could schedule a few dates for Christmas Tree Farm Minis this holiday season.

I have several families who come back year after year specifically for these sessions, and I’d really love to be able to continue offering them this year. ❤️

If you have a property that might be a good fit, or know someone who does, please send me a message! I’d love to talk through details, dates, and what I have in mind.

Bonus points for rows of trees, pretty evergreens, a little rustic charm, and all the cozy Christmas vibes. 😂🎄✨

Please share this post too! You never know who has the perfect little Christmas tree farm hiding right in their backyard. 🐝🤎

🍂 NEW DATE NIGHT MINIS ARE HERE 🍂

I’ve added new Date Night Mini dates! 🤎

These have been routinely filling up pretty quickly every time I release them, and I totally understand why. But here’s the fun part:

Every Date Night Mini is different. ✨

I don’t want these to feel like a cookie-cutter mini session where everyone gets the same setup and the same photos. Each session is built around you.

We’ll talk about what a date night actually means to you, whether that’s getting dressed up and going somewhere fancy, grabbing coffee, taking a walk, staying cozy, doing something you both love, or simply spending some uninterrupted time together.

Your session will be different because your relationship is different. 🥹🤎

New dates & times:

📅 Wednesday, September 16 | 5–7 PM
📅 Thursday, September 17 | 5:30–6:30 PM
📅 Friday, September 18 | 5:30–6:30 PM
📅 Wednesday, September 23 | 5:30–6:30 PM
📅 Saturday, October 10 | 5–7 PM

☕️ A little reminder before I disappear for a few days…

Starting tonight, I’ll be mostly offline through Tuesday. I do have one session on Monday, but outside of that, I’m going to be pretty quiet and taking some much-needed time away from the screen. 🤎

You may still see a few things pop up here over the weekend, but just a little behind-the-scenes reminder: more often than not, those posts are scheduled. I take one day each week to sit down, plan, and schedule a bunch of content so that Honey B Studio can still have a little presence here even when I’m not actively on my phone. ✨

And before I log off, I’m so, so proud to say that every single pending gallery will be delivered tonight. 🥹

If you’ve had a session within the last week and a half, even those of you who were in front of my camera last night, 👀 your gallery is coming tonight. 🤍

After that, I’ll be quiet. I’ll be MIA. I’ll answer messages when I can, but otherwise, please just bear with me. I wanted to be 100% caught up so I could be here ❤️

Sometimes the best thing I can do for my creativity, my business, and the people I love is step away for a little while and simply be present.

See you Tuesday, friends. 🐝

📸 Photography Tip of the Day: You Don’t Have to Reinvent Yourself for Photos

One thing I hear from couples and families all the time is, “We waited until we could afford everything we wanted before booking photos.”

And while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with planning for the dream session, I want to remind you of something:

You don’t need a dream wardrobe, professional hair and makeup, expensive accessories, or an elaborate location to make your photos meaningful.

Start with what you already have. 🤍

1. Watch for photographer specials.
A lot of photographers, myself included, offer limited-time mini sessions, seasonal specials, or exclusive discounts. I regularly open my minis at a discounted rate for a short period of time. The more you interact with my page, the more likely you are to see those opportunities when they pop up!

2. Check your closet before you go shopping.
Your favorite outfit might already be hanging in there.

Maybe it’s the sweater that makes your eyes pop.
Maybe it’s the dress your significant other always compliments.
Maybe it’s the colors your family naturally gravitates toward.
Maybe it’s simply the outfit you feel really good in.

Those things matter more than having something brand new.

3. Don’t experiment with a completely new style on picture day.
If you’ve never worn it before, never styled your hair that way, or never felt comfortable in that type of clothing, your session probably isn’t the time to test it out.

Wear something that makes you feel confident.
Wear something that feels like you.

4. You don’t need to spend an entire day getting ready.
You can do your own hair. Do your own makeup. Throw on some press-on nails. Put on your favorite outfit. Take a little extra time to feel pretty and confident.

You don’t have to look like someone else to deserve beautiful photographs.

5. Focus on connection, not perfection.
The photos you treasure most years from now probably won’t be the ones where every single hair was perfectly placed.

They’ll be the ones where your husband looked at you the way he always does.
Your kids were laughing.
Your family was genuinely together.
You felt like yourself.

6. Let your photographer help you.
You don’t have to know how to pose. You don’t have to know what to do with your hands. You don’t have to be naturally comfortable in front of a camera.

That’s part of what you’re hiring your photographer for.

My biggest tip?

Don’t wait until you feel like your life is “picture perfect” to document it.

Your family deserves to be photographed exactly as they are right now.

The messy hair. The favorite sweater. The toddler who won’t sit still. The laugh lines. The imperfect moments.

Because someday, those are the things you’re going to wish you could remember exactly as they were. 🤍

Stay true to yourself. Choose comfort over trends. Choose connection over perfection.

And most importantly, don’t wait for the perfect version of your life to start documenting it.

A couple more senior galleries are on their way out! 🎓✨

I still have a small window of opportunity for a few more senior sessions, and honestly, I’d really love to work with a few more seniors this year!

I’ll be continuing my current senior pricing through September, so if you’ve been thinking about booking, now is a great time.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t really dove super deep into senior portraits before because they just weren’t always my favorite type of session. But lately, I’ve really been enjoying them and finding my own style with them, so I’m excited to start dabbling in senior photography a little more!

If you’re still looking for a senior photographer, send me a message! I’d love to work with you. 🤍

I’ve been thinking about this a LOT lately, and I wanted to put it out there because I know it’s a little bit of a change.

I already try really hard not to post children’s faces on my business page unless I’ve specifically done a model session with a family and have permission to use those images. But going forward, I’m going to be taking that one step further and steering away from posting children’s faces in general.

After really sitting with it and thinking about my own kiddos, I just feel like it’s the right thing for me personally.

As a photographer, you obviously want people to see your work. You want to share the big beautiful family photos, the silly smiles, the sweet little faces, and all of the moments you’ve been trusted to capture. It’s hard because you want potential clients to be able to see what you do and fall in love with your work.

But as a mom and just as a human being, I keep coming back to the fact that these are tiny, innocent humans who deserve to be protected however we can.

My contract and model releases still apply, and I’m absolutely still going to be hosting model sessions, working with families, and creating all of the big, fun, beautiful images. That isn’t going away!

I’ll just be a lot more intentional about what I use for promotional purposes. When children are involved, I’ll probably focus more on the little details, tiny hands, little shoes, curls, backs of heads, snuggles, candid moments, the cute little in-between things or simply choose images that don’t include children at all when I can.

So just because you may not see a child’s face plastered all over my page doesn’t mean I’m not still doing that work. 😂 I still want to photograph your families. I still want to capture the chaos, the giggles, the cuddles, the big moments, and all the fun stuff.

I just want to be more mindful about what I put out into the world.

I know this may mean I have to get a little more creative with showing my work, but honestly, I’m okay with that.

At the end of the day, I’m a photographer, but I’m also a mom. And if I’m asking other parents to trust me with their babies, I want to make the choices I would want another photographer to make with my own.

Just wanted to be transparent about the direction I’m going moving forward. ❤️

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to trade with some absolutely amazing artists, and honestly… I LOVE it. 🥹

There’s something so special about artists trading their work with each other. I genuinely love every part of it.

And maybe this is silly, but I still get a little giddy when another artist offers to trade with me. 😂 There’s something about another creative looking at what I do and thinking, “Yeah, I’d trade my work for yours.” It makes me feel really good about myself and what I’ve created.

As artists, I think we can be so hard on ourselves sometimes. We’re constantly looking at what we could improve, what we wish was better, what someone else is doing that we want to achieve… that it’s really nice to have another artist say, “I value your work.”

So, yes. I’m a BIG fan of artist trades. 🖤

I actually got to finish out a trade today, and I’m kind of ridiculously stoked about it. 😂

So if you’re an artist, maker, creative, or another small business and you’ve ever thought about trading services/work… your girl is always down. My ears are open. 👀✨

Let’s make cool things for each other. 🐝

(Stay tuned for some fun things added to my studio from my recent trades 👀👀👀)

✨ WOW! My inbox was BLOWN UP while I was on vacation! 😅💛

I’m officially home and slowly working my way through all of your messages, inquiries, and questions. I promise I am getting to EVERYONE as soon as I possibly can! 🐝

One of my favorite parts of vacation will always be being on the water. 🌊☀️ There’s just something about being surrounded by the Great Lakes, soaking up the sunshine, and slowing down for a little while that I absolutely love. 💛

Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things and tackle this VERY full inbox! 😂

Thank you SO much for your patience and for keeping Honey B Studio so busy while I was away. It means more than you know! 🥹🍯

I’ll be getting to everyone ASAP, I promise! 💛
