after weeks of trying to get a good shot of these guys in the water, one happened to waddle up the bank and decide to have a snack a few feet from me. What a cute little furball.

Today wasn't about perfect shots, it was just a nice day out in the sun for a bit. Definitely got some sun. My arms are going to be a tad red I think. But it was worth it for a shot of this woodpecker taking flight and some beautiful dragonflies.

took some extra time out there today. moved much slower and waited much longer thanks to it being warm enough. i'm pretty sure that's a green heron there. size suggests it.

Took a walk with my wife, Amanda, tonight. Well, I used my chair, she walked. really liked this shot of this goose at full 100% size. I cropped out the rest and kept the 4k desktop resolution.

Also, I'm trying to nab some photos of birds in the crabapple trees before all the blossoms fall. This grackle politely obliged and then posed through the blossoms in such a funny way.

some shots from a rather gray and overcast day. overall it could have been worse.

Got some decent photos on the trail today. Thank God for digital cameras. I use so many frames trying to get a single decent shot that I like the look of or is clean and crisp. There are always birds that I just don't think the shot was good enough that I don't include. Some I include that I don't LOVE the shot but it feels right to include the shot. I'm not a professional after all. Just a guy trying to get out of the house and make a hobby out of this.

Migrating and mating seasons are bringing some less common faces out. If only the lighting had been better. trying to get fast flying birds in focus is a nightmare.

Needed some time with nature today and nature complied. I thought this was an eagle maybe until I got home and actually got to see the full frame. The blue heron is back in the area!
