One of my photos from our New Zealand trip placed in the top 250 entries in the Share the View International Nature Photo Contest last year. The photo is featured on their homepage today. The proceeds from this contest go to several conservation non-profits each year.

Share the View is open to everyone worldwide, 18 years and up. Landscapes, wildlife, and nature from anywhere on earth qualify for entry. Proceeds benefit organizations supporting nature, conservation, and education around the world.

For my local friends, if you're in downtown Cary Friday evening for Final Friday, stop by the Mathews House and say hello. I'll be there with a few of my art pieces and photos along with 22 other artists.

This special one-night-only (This Friday!) exhibit features the artistry of the men of the Fine Arts League of Cary. Come enjoy the vibrant art and meet the artists in the Grand Ballroom of the Matthews House, a stately 1915 Greek Revival manor in downtown Cary. All artwork will be available for sale, and wine and light refreshments will be served. After viewing the exhibit, feel free to meander the garden oasis, relax in the rocking chairs, and visit Hearsay, the cocktail bar hideaway at the Matthews House.

I was honored to have my photo of a Roseate Spoonbill selected as one of the top 100 entries for this year's North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) showcase. The Roseate Spoonbills are such beautifully colored and unusual looking birds and are a favorite of mine to photograph. This one flew straight toward me while it was heading back to its nest with more building materials and I managed to capture an image with its wings spread like an angel.

A photo art piece from one of the bears that we photographed on our trip to Lake Clark National Park in Alaska in August. The salmon weren't running yet, so they were still eating a lot of sedge in the meadows. This piece was recently published in the November issue of Living the Photo Artistic Life Magazine.

I was honored to have this photo art piece published in the October issue of Living the Photo Artistic Life magazine. The coastal brown bear is from a photo that I took on our trip to Alaska this year and the owl was from an Alligator River NWR trip last year.
