Newborn inquiries have been coming in hot this week! I thought it would be a good opportunity to reshare my policies for booking freshies!

• I accept four newborns/ month so that there is room for flexibility
• dates are “penciled” and adjusted based on baby’s arrival
• newborns are schedules weekend mornings, usually in home
• dates are held 24 hours after the booking link is sent to allow time to read the contract and ask questions. After 24 hours, the date becomes available to other inquiries
• I provide multiple luxury newborn outfits to choose from, as well as client closet for mom and siblings
• newborn sessions (Chapter 1, as I call them) are also available to book using the BOOK link in my bio

This sunshine session was just… as magical as the baby in her belly. There is no “right” time to announce a pregnancy, and everyone’s comfort level varies based on their experiences. Sunshine sessions are free pregnancy announcements for parents who have undergone IVF, have experienced infant loss, or are expecting a rainbow baby. They are such a special, philanthropic side of my service, and every now and again, I get to be the lucky girl who photographs the sunshine baby as a newborn ☀️🌈

Let’s just say it out loud- WE ARE ALL USING AI. It makes our lives easier and it can do a scary good job. This can get a little muddy when hiring a photographer, so I’m pulling the mask off of how I use Ai in my editing. In a brand that favors authenticity, this can be tricky- but you won’t see any families on the Oregon coast on my feed anytime soon… because I don’t live there. 🤣

There is a pull on my heart to stop offering studio sessions. I know what you’re thinking- don’t you have a studio? Well, I did. And in the short while I did, I hardly ever used it. These are some of my recent black and white photographs, and I don’t include them to be artsy-fartsy or lazy. They are done so intentionally. I’ve seen reels lately of other photographers jokingly admitting that they make photographs black and white when they are struggling to edit them in color… I feel it’s the complete opposite, so I wanted to explain why these end up in the galleries that I create.

It has to be family photos that FEEL like your family, or I don’t want it. My baby book package clients are so, so special to me, and this little guy has brought so much light into the world since he joined! From bump to newborn to nine months old, Henry is full of love, big brown eyes, curls, and rolls. I always look forward to the baby book family session because by the time it happens, we have already photographed together twice for maternity and newborn, so we skip the first-date interview and go straight to the prompts and games that pull out those incredible, authentic moments. For my followers who don’t know what a Baby Book package is, it is a four-session package that captures baby from bump to first birthday. Same photographer, same experience, consistent artwork, and hopefully a family friend by the end. I have been dreaming up a part-two of the baby book package that will be EXCLUSIVE to my baby book clients, and I can’t wait to put the finishing touches on and share it with them!
