Public Service Announcement from your photographer: šŸ“øā˜€ļø

As a proud child of the 90s who spent summers marinating in baby oil by the pool in Southern California while chasing the perfect bronze tan, I have officially learned that my younger self made some questionable life choices.

Iā€™ve recently been diagnosed with a small basal cell carcinoma on my face. The good news is that itā€™s highly treatable, and Iā€™m currently using a chemo cream before having it removed with a Mohs procedure.

According to my dermatologist, the cream is going to make the spot on my face look like ā€œhamburger meat.ā€ (His words, not mine. Bedside manner: 10/10.)

So if you see me at your upcoming session looking a little rough around the edges, donā€™t panicā€”I donā€™t have the funk, Iā€™m not contagious, and I promise your photos will look much better than my face currently does.

Thank you, 1990s tanning culture. Thank you, baby oil. Thank you, complete disregard for sunscreen.

In all seriousness, wear your sunscreen, get your skin checked, and know that Iā€™ll still be behind the camera doing what I loveā€”just looking a little extra crispy for a few weeks.
