Sometimes the best sunsets don't come after a clear day.

They come after hours of waiting,
after clouds,
after rain,
after wondering if it's worth going at all.

Two nights ago, I took a break from unpacking, drove eight minutes from my new home, and found this waiting beyond the storm.

I'd say the mountains welcomed me home.

Maggie Valley and Waynesville neighbors! Hopefully the worst rain of the day has passed, more still may pop up later but come out and dodge the showers at the Maggie Valley Arts & Crafts Festival.

My family officially made Maggie Valley our home this week, returning to the mountains that have inspired my photography for 27 years.

I would love to meet more of my new neighbors and maybe some of you will be inspired to add some of my work to your home.

We are here from 9-4 today and Sunday at the Festival Grounds on Soco Rd.
