When you shoot a wedding so good that it feels like a styled shoot. Yes, this is a REAL wedding. 😆

Tasha told me that she wanted the day to feel like a party and she wanted all the fun and “f*ckery” captured. 🤣🤣🤣
It WAS definitely a party!

She went to change out of her wedding dress (wait until you see it in future posts - SO cool) and into a second outfit for more photos and she was literally wearing a dress made out of tiny mirrors. Disco ball bride to match her disco ball decor. She was such a damn sport sitting as best as she could (without the dress breaking apart) and posing like the badass she is. Braxton was an amazing groom ready for all the photos (us photographers love men like that)! They were SO good!

It was a perfect day, a blast to capture, and these two are beyond adorable together! 🔥🔥

I am all about natural posing with my couples! I sometimes like to stick behind and watch as they walk together, completely unaware that I am lurking behind (🤣) and still watching through the lens. I have gotten some of my favorite photos this way!

K & A were sooo cute together! They did tell me that they weren’t comfortable in front of the camera (like almost every couple I photograph), but by mid-session, they were ROCKING IT! They crossed this log, played a little, and then I had tell them I was photographing them and had to stop them for a second for some kisses in the middle of the log. The light WAS PERFECT too!! If I can satisfy my “Baby & Johnny” moment at any point, I will seize the moment! 😜

Over the last three years, at least, I have saved every dream venue or venue I love on a bucket list. Locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, North Carolina, and Mexico so far. Places that I dream about. Places I may have shot at before but wish to go to again. Places that I would offer discounts on packages for. l just so I get the pleasure of shooting there!

With being a one woman show, my website is usually the last on my list. I have built it from scratch and blank pages (I can never find a pre-made template or design that feels like ME). Web designer is one of my many roles. So btw, THANK YOU to the brides who recently have told me how much they love my website and how professional and informative it is (😭😭), because I always feel like it’s never good enough and I want to scrap it and start over every time I work on it. 🤣
I plan to add my bucket list to my website for couples to reference if they are looking at particular venues and want to save a few bucks! 🤗 Coming soon!

April showers 🌧️ bring May flowers🌷

A wedding in Washington is never guaranteed to be sunny, unfortunately. I have shot August weddings where I have raced against the storm clouds.

We made it through this April wedding without rain until right after finishing the bridal party photos (btw, don’t these ladies look fabulous?!). Luckily this venue has an indoor ceremony option and an undercover area that can be used if necessarily for photos. We were able to adjust and capture the post-ceremony family photos under a covered porch area.

My best advice for a Washington wedding:
- Look for venues with an indoor option
- If the venue doesn’t have an indoor option, do they own tents that can be used outdoor? I have been to a rainy May wedding where the coordinator had to search high and low for tents last minute and most companies had already rented theirs out. You were the real MVP! 😉
- Does the venue have umbrellas for guests? Most venues will have an inventory of clear umbrellas. I have two clear umbrellas that I keep on me for weddings, just in case. I can at least cover the couple and get umbrella couples photos if we don’t get a clear moment otherwise.
- Not letting the weather affect you. I know this is hard to say when it’s the most important day of your life that you have dreamed about since you were a little, but the weather cannot be controlled. Being prepared for the possibility of rain and having a backup plan (and being okay with that) will help you enjoy your day whether it’s sunny or stormy.
- Having a photographer/videographer who is used to flexing due to weather and has the necessary equipment to still operate on a rainy day (rain shields, an umbrella, rainy day apparel, rain poncho and whatever else may be needed).

Doing a little extra research (I am happy to help my couples) can really help save the day if Mother Nature decides to water the Earth when you say, “I do!”

When you have been obsessed with the moon since you were a child (as early as I can remember) and been fantasizing about moon photos with a couple, but you have always been a hazy sun shooter and blue hour scared you! 🤣 I am soooo glad that I pushed my limits back in August and kept shooting this beautiful sweet (OMG so sweet) couple once the sun started to fade. They were perfect, the location was perfect, and I kept saying, “one more shot, one more shot!” The shoot ran over, and I told them we were done, but then I saw that moon as we walked back to our cars. I was holding them hostage, but I couldn’t stop, it was magic!!
