Happy to say that I will have a couple of photos at the Falls Church Art Gallery again, starting this coming Saturday, November 22. Here’s some info about the exhibit:

“Kinship,” an all-media exhibit honoring the bonds that exist between or among communities, families, cultures, and affinity groups, will be held from November 22, 2025 to January 4, 2026 at Falls Church Arts. The exhibit will open with a meet-the-artists reception, scheduled from 7:00–9:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 22. During the evening, the recipient of the Juror’s Choice Award will be announced. The reception is free and is open to the public.

Juror Glen Kessler reflects on the exhibition:

“The current show at Falls Church Arts, entitled ‘Kinship,’ explores the many ways artists interpret the idea of connection—between individuals, between cultures, and even within themselves. This thought-provoking exhibition of more than 50 works in a range of media feels especially meaningful at a time when both our similarities and differences are so often in focus. As juror, I am deeply proud of the artists represented here. The quality of craftsmanship and richness of ideas make this an unforgettable show for all who experience it.”

Glen Kessler is an internationally collected and awarded artist as well as the founder of The Compass Atelier in Rockville, Maryland. His works have graced the cover of Professional Artist magazine and have appeared in Artists Magazine among other publications.
The Falls Church Arts gallery is at 700-B West Broad St. (Route 7), Falls Church. Admission is free, and the gallery is open with new winter hours: Tuesdays-Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Happy to share that two of my photos have been selected for Photography 2025 at the Hill Center Galleries, located near Eastern Market and the Marine Barracks. The exhibition was juried by Philip Kennicott, the Pulitzer Prize-winning art and architecture critic of The Washington Post,

The opening reception is September 16 from 6:30-8:30 pm at 921 Pennsylvania Ave SE, in the historic Old Naval Hospital. I'm looking forward to attending the reception and checking out the building and the 100+ photos selected for the exhibit.

If you can't make it to the opening reception, the show runs until January 9, 2026.

See the DMV’s most iconic landmark, the Washington Monument, in a whole new way.

📸 Local photographers were challenged to use “framing within a frame”—a technique that guides the eye through natural and architectural elements—to reveal fresh perspectives on the National Monument in Washington, DC.

Join us as we celebrate the artistry of the DMV’s photography community and discover how context reshapes what we choose to see.
