I have been a loyal Nikon photographer since the days of film. I was even involved in developing my own prints. When digital cameras became popular, Nikon was the obvious choice for me. Their cameras are known for their durability and sturdiness, like tanks that can withstand any conditions. So when mirrorless cameras started gaining popularity, I was hesitant to switch. I was content with my D750 and saw no reason to change. However, as time went on, I began reading reviews and hearing about the advancements in mirrorless technology. Eventually, I gave in to my curiosity and purchased my first mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z7II. Little did I know that this decision would completely reignite my passion for photography.
After about a year, I came across a great deal for the Sony A7RIV with a 35mm 1.8 lens. Despite my loyalty to Nikon, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore what the Sony camera had to offer. I did some research and discovered that many people loved this camera, so I thought it would make a good backup to my Nikon gear.
And that's when it happened - I fell in love with photography all over again, thanks to the Sony A7RIV. Once I got past the initial setup (which I must admit was a bit challenging due to the convoluted menu system), the camera just seamlessly integrated into my workflow. It was effortless to focus, track subjects, and achieve perfect exposure. Not to mention, the colors produced by the camera and lenses were simply stunning. I found myself reaching for the Sony camera more often than my Nikon, which left me feeling a bit confused but undeniably captivated by this amazing piece of technology.
It has been around 6 months now, and I can confidently say that I am head over heels in love with this incredible camera. While I still have valuable knowledge and information about Nikon, Fujifilm, and Sony, I have made the decision to sell my Nikon Z7II and the lenses I currently own. I plan to invest in another Sony camera, as I have become a proud Sony shooter. It's hard to believe, but my allegiance has shifted, and I am excited to continue exploring the possibilities that Sony cameras offer. If you have any questions regarding Nikon, Fujifilm, or Sony, I would be happy to share my educated insights.
